The Procurement Analyst surveys market outlooks and determines when and what to buy when contracting with vendors, ordering supplies, or making a big investment in a product, technology, etc. the analyst develops and implements short- and long-term strategies to purchase commodities.

This position requires you to be 100% on site at our Fort Myers, FL Corporate Office.  We are not considering those that are willing to relocate at this time. 

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Researches material suppliers and alternatives, obtains quotes, orders materials and supplies, negotiates optimal pricing and delivery, resolves any billing discrepancies, and maintains vendor relationships.
  • Supports management by tracking orders, investigating, and reporting information, as well as resolving problems.
  • Respond to e-mails and phone calls from vendors and interact with various employees to keep orders moving smoothly.
  • Provide feedback to manager regarding mill deliveries, paint runs, etc. to facilitate decision-making on inventory levels and usage.
  • Responsible for processing receipts of inventory.
  • Work closely with the production floor to assist with purchasing requirements- reviewing inventories and purchase requests.
  • Improves quality results by analyzing materials, equipment, supplies, and supplier reliability, recommending changes.
  • Works closely with Supply Chain Manager to ensure all materials are ordered, received, and distributed timely to prevent disruption to production.
  • Maintains historical records of POs and all other purchasing and receiving documents.
  • Check order confirmations for accuracy and compliance with Storm Smarts order requirements and resolve discrepancies timely.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

Required Skills/ Abilities:


  • The ability to analyze market trends, supplier performance and cost data.
  • Must have exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Excel.
  • Adaptable using web-based products.
  • Ability to communicate issues and resolutions clearly

Qualifications


Education/Experience/Licenses/Certifications:
 

  • Associate degree or combination of education and experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Three to five years of purchasing experience, preferably in manufacturing or building supplies
  • Experience working with ERP Planning Systems a MUST
