Role and Responsibilities
The organization seeks a highly skilled, results-oriented Manager of Value Realization with deep expertise in finance and accounting, a strong understanding of contract lifecycles, and a proven track record in project management. This role is responsible for ensuring that the company derives maximum financial value from its contracts and business relationships, and plays a pivotal role that bridges financial strategy with operational execution. The successful candidate will connect contract terms and financial models to actual costs, actively driving financial optimization, identifying savings opportunities, and minimizing fiscal and operational risk across a portfolio of 200+ vendor, commercial lease and customer contracts annually.
Role & Responsibilities
- Project and Lifecycle Management
- Contract Lifecycle Oversight: Manage assigned commercial agreements’ lifecycle from negotiating, execution, performance monitoring, and close-out phases.
- Project Execution: Utilize strong project management methodologies to efficiently manage multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met and progress is effectively tracked.
- Process Improvement: Develop and implement strategies to streamline vendor and contract management processes.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive tracking system for all major contracts, including commercial leases, to proactively monitor and manage expiration dates, critical milestones, triggering events, and material provisions throughout the contract lifecycle.
- Establish and maintain a robust methodology for tracking KPIs and performance metrics to ensure effective oversight of project and contract execution, compliance, and risk mitigation.
- Financial Management and Analysis
- Cost Management and Optimization: Conduct regular variance analyses comparing actual invoiced costs with contracted pricing and original cost models. Proactively identify cost savings, avoidances, and optimization opportunities.
- Value Realization Monitoring: Define, track, and report on financial performance metrics (KPIs) related to commercial agreements and contract value.
- Develop executive-level dashboards that provide clear, data-driven insights on contract ROI and spend.
- Provide strategic financial guidance by serving as a trusted advisor to business units, assisting in the negotiation of contracts and projects by translating complex financial and business terms into actionable strategic decisions.
- Data-Driven Insight: Utilize strong analytical skills to perform data analysis and deliver actionable insights based on contract performance and financial findings.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Cross-Functional Collaboration with Stakeholders and Leadership: Partner closely with internal stakeholders (including Finance, Operations, and business unit leaders) and external parties (i.e. vendors or customers) to foster strong, collaborative relationships.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for internal stakeholders (project teams, finance, and operations) and external parties (clients, vendors) on all contractual matters.
- Facilitate clear and effective communication throughout the contracting process, including explaining business terms, financials, and conditions, addressing concerns, and managing expectations.
- Communicate preemptively with relevant stakeholders about upcoming obligations or critical dates, providing actionable recommendations on time to enable informed decision-making, prompt action on obligations, and maximize contractual benefits for Samsung.
- Risk Management and Compliance:
- Identify and assess potential legal, financial, and operational risks associated with contracts.
- Develop and implement mitigation strategies to address identified risks and ensure contract and invoice compliance.
Skills and Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting/finance, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
- Experience: A minimum of 6 years of combined experience in project management, purchasing, accounting/finance, or related fields, demonstrating a strong foundation in cost modeling, investment planning, and/or contract management, and aligning them with business objectives.
- Skills:
- Expertise in financial analysis, cost management, and optimization, with experience in variance analysis and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Strong understanding of legal, financial, and operational processes to align with company objectives.
- Well-developed analytical thinking skills, enabling practical risk assessment and decision-making.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Experience in process improvement and streamlining vendor and contract management processes.
- Proven ability to collaborate across all levels and functions, fostering strong relationships and driving successful outcomes.
- Technical Competencies:
- Ability to perform data analysis and deliver actionable insights based on findings, supporting informed decision-making and strategic planning.
- Strong knowledge of using Microsoft Suite tools (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Word) for creating reports, presentations, and managing documentation efficiently.
- Experience with financial dashboard tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) for tracking project KPIs and contract performance metrics.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Contracts, Finance/Accounting, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
- Basic understanding of legal principles related to contracts, although the Legal department will handle final legal review.
- Industry-recognized credentials or certifications highly preferred (CPCM, CCCM, PMP, etc.).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to foster collaboration, resolve conflicts, and build trust across diverse teams and stakeholders.
