- Provides 24 hour emergency on call services for agency facilities and vehicles.
- Maintains all Guiding Harbor/Girlstown facilities in good operating order, this includes the building grounds and the physical structure in order to ensure that facilities are in a safe condition.
- Follows up on maintenance requests within 24 hours to correct immediate problems.
- Maintains all electrical equipment and appliances, including light bulbs in order to keep the equipment in good operating condition.
- Checks locks frequently to maintain the safety and security of the buildings.
- Performs a monthly safety checklist for agency buildings.
- Repair walls, paint and install shelving in order to maintain building appearance.
- Maintains minor plumbing repairs in restrooms and kitchens to ensure a sanitary environment.
- Obtains quotes and ensures that all work is completed on contracted maintenance services.
- Obtains approval for all purchases.
- Maintains the smoke detectors in order to keep the buildings secure in case of an emergency.
- Responsible for scheduling and following up on the annual fire inspections for both facilities.
- Monitors the alarm system and pest control in order to keep the buildings secure in case of an emergency.
- Picks up supplies as assigned.
- Maintains storage area safety and cleanliness & also keeps recyclables organized.
- Maintain company vehicles in good operating condition and check the oil, tires, all fluid levels, first aid kit and check for any physical damages at least monthly.
- Performs & maintains record of six safety drills on an annual basis, which includes bomb threat, utility failure, medical emergency, natural disaster, tornado & other threatening situations.
- Assists with handling computer & IT issues.
- Responsible for the 5 year maintenance plan.
- Inform immediate supervisor verbally and in writing of any issues that impact the clients, employees & administration of the agency.
- Inform administration immediately of any client abuse or neglect.
- Performs monthly fire drills at Admin facility.
- Perform other job related tasks or duties as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer
Skills and Qualifications
- Associate's degree or certificate in automotive technology or similar field preferred
- At least four years of experience in building and vehicle maintenance and repair
- HVAC experience a plus
- Commitment to the goals and philosophy of the organization including cultural competency objectives.
- Understanding of working with children who have experienced trauma
- Reliable transportation and maintain good driving record.
- Must be highly motivated and flexible
- Must display sophisticated writing and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently or with a team.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook,
Working conditions
- Responsible to work with On-Call when there is an emergency and perform On-Call duties as needed.
- May be required to work nights and Weekends and have a flexible schedule.
- The worker is subject to hazards: Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on ladders or exposure to chemicals.

Physical requirements
- The worker is subject to both environmental conditions: Activities occur inside and outside.
- Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Positions in this class typically require fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
- May be exposed to hazardous materials found in a home or general office environment.
- Use of household cleaning products and disinfectants may be required.
Direct reports: This role has no supervisory responsibilities
