POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Director of Enterprise Data Analytics, the Supervisor is responsible for leading the Business Intelligence (BI) analysts to deliver reliable clinical, operational, and financial reporting and analytics for the organization. The Supervisor assists with prioritizing and assigning work and is the primary point of contact for technical escalations. Additional responsibilities include day-to-day development work including SQL reports, BI dashboards and automation workflows. The Supervisor will contribute to the creation and management of reports and data extracts. The Supervisor ensures data integrity using data analysis techniques and procedures to gather and then translate business requirements into functional/technical specifications and designs for reporting, performance improvement and the execution of strategic goals.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Computer Science/Software Engineering, or related field. Five years of experience in SQL programming or BI development. Current Epic Cogito Certification within 6 months of hire. Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications. Ability to work both independently and within a team environment at a high-performance level, to meet goals and project deadlines. Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.

Preferred: Master’s degree in computer science/software engineering/MIS. Experience with Tableau or Microsoft Power BI. Epic Cogito Certification, Healthcare experience.

Requires ability to concentrate on logical problem solving in the midst of distractions. Requires periods of extended keyboarding. Requires strong skills in verbal and written communications.  The individual must adapt quickly and apply learned principles and techniques to complex situations.

·       Facilitate the integration of data, information and knowledge to support customers in business and financial areas of the organization, performing data mapping and analysis, and producing business or clinical intelligence through report writing.

·       Maintain an in-depth knowledge of software and function as an effective member and subject matter expert on assigned committees, task forces and projects.

·       Perform hands-on development and maintenance of analytic solutions, including authoring and optimizing SQL queries.

·       Partner with clinical, operational, and finance stakeholders to gather and document reporting requirements, translate them into technical specifications and deliver timely analytics that support decision making.

·       Contribute to departmental projects and initiatives.

·       Lead data validation and data quality assurance activities.

·       Communicate status, risks, and recommendations to leadership and cross functional teams.

·       Knowledge of State and Federal healthcare compliance standards and how they relate to operations.
