Reporting to the Head of Operations, Financial and Business Planning and Reporting, the Resourcing Consultant will own our resourcing programme which supports the success of CF’s project delivery through the assignment of the best teams to deliver the highest quality of work. You will collaborate across the organisation to deliver an excellent employee experience and ensure cost efficiency. In your role as Resourcing Lead, you will play a pivotal role in managing and optimising our team to ensure the smooth execution of our business operations and projects.   

 

This is a dynamic, high-impact role that requires both strong operational and analytical acumen and the ability to translate operational data into actionable insights that support the business's broader objectives. When working with colleagues in CF, clients, suppliers, and people seeking to engage CF, professionalism, kindness, diplomacy and professionalism are essential qualities we expect from the person in role. 

Responsibilities  

Bid development:  

  • Receive project requirements and review resource availability; maintain a capacity forecast to stay ahead of staffing constraints 
  • Engage with delivery leadership teams and business development to propose teams to be resourced to projects ensuring fee tables reflect these proposals 
  • Engage in regular interactions with the business development teams to develop a better understanding of the bids pipeline for the short/ medium term 
  • Manage and prioritise competing project requirements to align with business goals and customer needs 

Project mobilisation and delivery: 

  • Manage and adapt our resourcing rules that set out the practices we need to follow in order to ensure projects run smoothly and finish successfully  
  • Support staffing matters by recommending appropriate resources while considering workload, skillset, and business needs 
  • Design resourcing KPIs and utilise CRM reporting functionality to provide insights into resource utilisation, demand and forecasting 
  • Engage with delivery leadership teams to adjust team profiles when project scopes, timelines, or performance issues change, ensuring the maintenance of established profit margins for projects 
  • Act as a gatekeeper for our resourcing guidelines, ensuring that Accountable Partners are as the name would suggest accountable for making great decisions around resource utilisation on their projects and maintaining compliance with our guidelines 

 Cost management: 

  • Collaborate with business development in the creation of cost tables that provide an overview of the costs incurred of running a project as well as the expected profit margins  
  • Manage our use of associates in line with our business plan to accommodate the right people being in the right place at the right time and that associate usage and therefore costs can be planned  
  • Design project teams that show appropriate attention to meeting cost margins in each practice, ensuring balanced usage of Associates in line with our business plan and spread across project teams 
  • Follow our associate pay benchmarks when determining the pay available for associates being deployed in specific roles for specific projects, particularly when an associate is playing a different role than is usual for them 

Talent and wellbeing support:  

  • Build and grow an understanding of the expertise and interest of our team to ensure they’re able to work on projects that both challenge and excite them  
  • Maintain a skills matrix for CF employees and the associate pool as a live record of the skills and experience network available to us  
  • Engage with team members to support their goals and provide wellbeing care where needed 
  • Complete ongoing reviews of work allocation across the business to meet target utilisation goals, while ensuring that projects requiring time spent away from London are evenly split across parties 

  Communication: 

  • Communicate resourcing decisions to all staff via conversations where possible, and followed up via Teams before they’re notified of new assignments by Partners or other parties  
  • Engage in face-to-face discussions around resourcing with support from the Head of O, P&R in situations where challenging or sensitive decisions have been made  
  • Maintain monthly communication with our associate pool to stay up-to-date on their availability, skills, day rates, and areas of expertiseAct as the point of contact for all resource administration queries managing the resourcing mailbox 
  • Ensuring all staff are notified in advance of being cited as a project team member in a proposal 
  • Create and distribute a weekly resourcing overview that outlines utilisation, start dates for upcoming projects and details of resourcing to those projects  
  • Escalate significant resourcing challenges to Head of O,P&R as soon as they present a meaningful business or people impact

  • In the event that we have bench resource, you will take responsibility for liaising with the Head of Operations, Planning and Reporting to decide how best to use that resource 
  • Ensure each new hire is aware of the project they will be working on prior to joining the business  

 Associate management:  

  • Manage our pool of associates which includes issuing and managing associate contracts, and keeping track of their availability and skillset 
  • Support the retention of top-performing associates by maintaining strong connections and ensuring a seamless, positive experience in all interactions with the business 
  • Monitor and manage associate offboarding from the pool by evaluating feedback on project delivery, encompassing both performance and behavior, in alignment with our core values 
  • Support the retention and engagement of our regular associate pool by engaging in meaningful connection conversations

Requirements

  • Prior experience leading resourcing within a professional services environment 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and quickly changing environment 
  • Ability to prioritise workload and work to tight deadlines 
  • Strong attention to detail and organisation skills 
  • Proactive, flexible, organised, and able to problem solve 
  • Advanced Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills 
  • Previous experience in professional services environment ideal 
  • Interest in healthcare and making a social impact 

Benefits

  • Holiday entitlement: 25 days/year in addition to all bank holidays; after two years’ service this would increase to 27 days; after four years’ service this would increase to 32 days, after six years’ service this would increase to 35 days, which is the maximum entitlement
