An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual to undertake the role of HOLMES indexer to work within the Major Crime Department at Folkestone.

 

This is a challenging role that requires the successful candidate to undertake research, index and provide effective administrative support, utilising a number of applications in support to Major Investigations. You will be responsible for providing effective administrative support to Major Investigations using HOLMES 2 (Home Office Large Major Enquiry System) and other systems in accordance with Force and National policy.  You will work closely in support of the investigators in relation to Major Crime within Kent.

 

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate experience of computer literacy, being methodical, have excellent organisational, time management and communication skills. It is essential you are an enthusiastic team player, assertive, professional and able to work with minimal supervision within a confidential environment.   

 

As a HOLMES Indexer, you will:

  • Research, index, and manage documentation related to major investigations.
  • Provide essential administrative support to the Major Investigation Team.
  • Work closely with Investigating Officers to assist in file preparation and ensure critical information is accuratel recorded and accessible.
  • Contribute to the smooth running of investigations by maintaining high standards of data integrity and task management.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • A professional approach to teamwork and collaboration.

 

Desirable Skills:

  • Competency in the use of Force systems such as PNC, Athena and STORM is highly desirable.

The role will offer flexibility in terms of place of work, including home working. The extent of flexibility will be agreed through individual assessment with the line manager to assess operational requirements and individual’s suitability for home working.

 

Kent Police offer incremental increases within this salary band, therefore the salary for this position will rise to a maximum of £29,424.00.
