Utilizes hands-on automotive technician training and knowledge to provide exceptional customer service as an automotive Warranty Technician for a growing, fast-paced auto salvage company that distributes remanufactured, used, OEM, and aftermarket auto parts to wholesale distributors and end users. Handles claims and warranty work and provides knowledge-based troubleshooting through previous hands-on experience as an ASE Certified mechanic.
Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
1. Customer Service – Internal & External
Respond to customers’ concerns regarding defective parts and products by phone and email.
Keep customers up to date on the work progress of their claims.
Communicate with repair facilities, vendors, and customers via phone, email, and IM to process claims.
Utilizing specific customer and vendor guides to meet each of their respective needs.
Developing relationships with vendors’ warranty teams.
2. Technician
Assists automotive repair facilities in diagnosing, repairing, or replacing drive train components via digital and personal communications utilizing subject matter expertise from hands-on experience and ASE Certification.
3. Administrative
Review warranty part(s) and supporting documentation for compliance with published policies and procedures.
Document and report findings, and debit claims if non-compliance is confirmed.
Gather complaints, cause, and correction information and all other facts pertinent to the repair.
Request repair orders and other supporting documentation as needed.
Supporting the company’s existing warranty team to initiate, process, and close warranty claims. in the most efficient and cost-effective manner.
Warranty submission.
Negotiating and paying warranty claims once complete.
Parts ordering for both retail and internal needs.
Light customer service writing.
Requirements
High school diploma or GED is required.
ASE Certification required.
Five (5) years of Automotive drive-train mechanic experience is required.
Bilingual (Spanish) language ability preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are required with a commitment to act with an elevated level of professionalism during all transactions both internally and externally.
Ability to read, write and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, primarily Excel and Word, All-data, Mitchel and Outlook with the aptitude to learn new systems and software.
Must be able to work effectively alone or with others in a team environment.
Must be able to work collaboratively across functions. Share expertise with others.
Must be a self-starter with the demonstrated ability to meet timelines and schedules related to essential functions described above.
Must demonstrate strong attention to detail and strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.

Expected Work Hours – 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. local time, Monday through Friday.
Ability to work occasional overtime as needed as determined by the employee’s supervisor.
