Position Summary:
The Busser plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the dining area and contributes to the guest experience. Bussers work closely with the waitstaff and kitchen staff to ensure a smooth and enjoyable dining experience for guests.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet guests warmly and escort them to their tables with a smile
- Provide accurate wait times and manage reservations and walk-ins
- Answer phone calls and assist with inquiries and reservations
- Handle guest concerns professionally and escalate when needed
- Maintain a courteous, upbeat, and professional demeanor at all times
- Clear and reset tables promptly with clean linens, utensils, and glassware
- Pre-bus throughout meals to keep tables tidy and organized
- Assist in delivering food and beverages to guests
- Restock napkins, condiments, and other table items as needed
- Monitor the dining area to ensure ambiance and cleanliness
- Sweep, mop, and wipe down surfaces to maintain a spotless dining area
- Keep bussing stations and host stand clean and well-stocked
- Maintain restrooms by cleaning and replenishing supplies regularly
- Dispose of trash and recycling according to guidelines
- Communicate effectively with waitstaff and kitchen team
- Help with setup and breakdown for special events or private dining
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions
- Support teammates in other areas of the restaurant when needed
- Follow all health and safety regulations, including food handling and sanitation
- Polish glassware, plate ware, and silverware as needed
- Ensure all guest areas are safe, clean, and welcoming
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.
Requirements
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Host, Busser or Server Assistant in a fine dining or upscale restaurant is preferred.
- Knowledge of fine dining etiquette and service standards.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate with the waitstaff, kitchen staff, and guests.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift and carry heavy trays or bus tubs.
- Attention to detail to ensure accurate and consistent table setups.
- Customer service-oriented mindset with a focus on providing exceptional dining experiences.
- Flexibility to work in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Professional and polished appearance, adhering to dress code and grooming standards.
- Ability to work well in a team and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Willingness to learn and take direction from supervisors or managers.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to handle and resolve guest concerns or complaints in a professional manner.
- Positive attitude and willingness to contribute to the overall success of the restaurant.
- Current Food Handler Certification
