Position: Human Resources Generalist I

Job Summary
Working under the direction of an assigned HRBP and Business Units for the WCS US based employees, you will collaborate and support the evolving needs of the US HRBP teams and the organization.  You are solution-oriented and make data-based decisions. You will coordinate closely with Zoos & Aquarium staff, U.S, HR, and across WCS departments to deliver excellent service in all areas of Human Resources to teams based in U.S./NYC and some remote staff.  The HRG will partner closely with Center of Excellence (COE) areas such as Talent Acquisition and Management, Total Rewards, Leave Management, and HR Operations & Systems.

Major Responsibilities

Recruitment

•  Manage full-cycle recruitment activity for seasonal positions, including candidate job postings, candidate sourcing, screenings, interview schedules, offers, and onboarding.
•  Track all FT and PT approved and posted requisitions to work with assigned recruiter for the job offer stage activities
•  Track inside and outside BrassRing for all roles.
•  Create requisitions and job codes to open recruitment in BrassRing
•  Support the T&A team and Manager, Administration as needed with candidate communication, background checks, and reporting.
•  Support content development for and ongoing maintenance of the WCS external careers website and employee intranet.

Employee Lifecycle
•  Send out new hire paperwork to all new hires via Docusign after teaming with HRBP (or recruiter) post job offer.
•  Initiate I9 process for new hires and Verify documents through Paperless I9 process within the prescribed time period.
•  Facilitate new hire orientation according to the team schedule
•  Coordinate issuing of Employee IDS and ID # to new hires and managers.
•  Facilitate the process of promotions and transfers via Docusign for FT Status Changes and Change Forms for the Seasonal Processes
•  Send Exit Information Letters and Exit Surveys to departing employees in assigned business units and track responses

•Maintenance of employee files and the HR filing system, organize hard and soft copies of employee records

Employee and Labor Relations
•  Support HRBPS with labor management & relations (with grievance hearings, arbitrations and panel 
committee administration).
•  Support HRBPs with investigations and employee relations concerns as they arise.

HRBP Team Support
•  Receive incoming complaints or concerns and work with HRBP on complex issues
•  Actively participate in continuous quality improvement processes
•  Delivers excellent customer service to WCS employees and managers
•  Support the development and maintenance of strong partnerships within WCS and with external agencies through effective and regular communication

Salary Range

$52,000 - $57,000

Internal Qualification Requirements

•  Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field
•  1+ years of progressive experience in a Human Resources department supporting HR activities through the employee lifecycle from recruitment and onboarding to separation
•  Ability to convey information effectively and clearly in writing and verbally
•  Strong attention to detail / client orientation
•  Resourceful and proactive in finding solutions, seeking opportunities to learn and grow, contributing creative and innovative ideas
•  Resilient and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a sense of urgency and an ability to deliver results under pressure
•  Results-oriented approach to planning, prioritizing, and executing on HR activities
•  Strong proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
•  Familiarity with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS)
