Description

  

As the PMS 378 Contracts Support, the candidate shall;

  • Assist PMS 378 with overseeing the delivery and implementation of transformational technology on CVN 78. 
  • Provide support and technical review for the development and integration of the Machinery Control and Monitoring System      (MCMS), and updates concerning the MCMS interfaces, to the Machinery Local Area Network (MLAN), Auxiliary Ship Systems, Electrical Distribution systems, IC Circuits, Advanced Degaussing System, and EMALS.
  • Assist PMS 378S PAPM in responding to program actions. Develop action item responses, point papers, white papers, and briefings as necessary.
  • Administrative support of Government issued and approved evaluation criteria for any incentive or award sections of contract solicitations and/or shipbuilding statements of work for Technical Instructions (TI).
  • Coordinate the Navy review for all MCMS display pages, including system pages, administrative pages, alert management, and navigation among display pages. Coordinate and facilitate communication between NAVSEA 05 and 08, NSWCPD, NAVAIR, and      HII-NNS to ensure high level and derived requirements are satisfied. Adjudicate differences between the teams as required. Ensure that system software and hardware design documents meet NAVSEA requirements.
  • Lead and advise the PMS 378 Program Office the transition of the Machinery Control and Monitoring System (MCMS) and Federated Machinery LAN (FMLAN) from the prime contractor to Navy. Responsibilities include planning Knowledge/Technical      Exchange (KE/TE) events; budget funding plan; and management of software releases.
  • Provide subject matter expertise for ship control systems, including cost, schedule and technical performance of software development, development testing, Ship modernization process and activation onboard CVN 78 class carriers (new      construction and in-service).
  • This position may require candidate to visit and/or work aboard the aircraft carrier at the ship’s homeport or other ports and underway.
Requirements

  

Qualifications:

  • Required
    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical field equivalent.
    • 15+ years of professional, applicable experience.
    • Active DoD Secret Clearance.
    • Proficient in MS Office 365 suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
    • Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, and organization skills.
    • Ability to interface efficiently with team members and technical leads.
  • Desired
    • Master’s Degree in engineering or technical field.
    • Prior Navy (active duty), specifically aircraft carrier experience. 
    • NAVSEA and/or PEO Aircraft Carriers experience.
    • Previous experience managing technical issues for Navy electronic systems.
