Our Accounting & Finance Department is dynamic and collaborative. Role Description:
As a Senior Manager, Finance, you’ll step into a leadership role within a highly skilled and technical accounting group, driving critical financial insights that support strategic growth for Safety National and its subsidiaries. You’ll manage and mentor a team responsible for accounting and operational functions, ensuring timely and accurate entries within PeopleSoft and other systems. Your role will focus on in-depth analysis of financial metrics, expense lines, and capital modeling, helping guide leadership’s decisions with data-backed forecasting and reporting tools.
You’ll also lead initiatives that streamline and optimize department-wide processes, collaborating cross-functionally to identify gaps and implement solutions that enhance performance. This is a high-impact opportunity for someone with a strong foundation in GAAP, statutory insurance accounting, and a passion for using financial insights to influence long-term strategy.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
Required Qualifications:
- Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future.
- This position allows for a hybrid work schedule which includes a minimum of 3 days per week in our St. Louis Corporate Office, located at 1832 Schuetz Rd. Saint Louis, MO. All employees are required to submit work from home requests and follow our Work From Home policy, which will be provided to all candidates selected to interview.
- 10 or more years of experience in financial reporting, auditing, or financial analysis.
- Deep knowledge of GAAP and statutory accounting principles, especially in the insurance industry.
- Strong proficiency with Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and databases.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA designation preferred.
- Familiarity with PeopleSoft is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently.

Safety National is committed to fair, transparent pay and we strive to provide competitive, market-based compensation. In our vision to be First with Co-Workers, compensation is only one piece of the comprehensive total rewards package we offer. The target base salary range for this position is $113,000 to $148,000. Compensation for the successful candidate will consider the candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, experience and geographic location.
