Job Summary

The Territory Sales Representative is responsible for selling low horsepower (40 HP and below) air compressors, service contracts, and parts to small and mid-sized industrial companies and larger commercial companies in the St. Louis, MO area.  This entry-level, field-based role focuses on heavy prospecting, building relationships and growing market share. Training is provided with advancement opportunities based on performance. 

Responsibilities Include: 

  • Develop and execute a territory plan to achieve revenue and market share goals.
  • Conduct a minimum of 10 in-person calls per day to actively grow the territory.
  • Manage the full sales cycle, from initial contact through closing.
  • Appropriate technical knowledge to establish credibility with decision makers. 
  • Proactively pursue learning through internal resources, vendor training and hands-on experience.
  • Know when to leverage internal technical experts to help move the sales process forward. 
  • Use CRM tools to track activity management pipeline health, maintain accurate forecasting, and monitor key performance metrics such as calls, visits and closed deals. 
  • Share market insights and updates with sales leadership. 
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure smooth hand-offs and high-quality customer experience. 
  • Provide customer feedback to improve offerings and internal processes.
  • Maintain professional, clear communication across internal teams and departments.

Qualifications:

  • Required
  • High energy and resilience to overcome challenges and handle rejection. 
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to make a high volume of daily calls. 
  • Effective communicator with both technical and executive-level contacts.
  • Self-starter who can work independently and manage results. 
  • Eager to learn quickly through training and hands-on experience.
  • Spend at 80% of the time in the field prospecting.
  • Preferred
  • Experience in door-to-door or high-volume sales in industrial or B2B environments.
  • Technical aptitude to understand air compressors and related service needs.
  • Background in work or sport environments demonstrating persistence and drive. 
  • Familiarity with small business or mid-sized industrial markets is a plus.
  • Tech-Savviness
    1. Proficient in CRM platforms and Microsoft Office Suite.
    2. Leverage AI-driven tools for prospecting, territory analysis, and market research.
    3. Skilled in mapping tools like Google Maps for route planning and territory management.
    4. Basic knowledge of video meeting platforms such as Teams, Zoom, or Google Meet.
