GENERAL OBJECTIVES:  

 The role of the Graduate Events and Marketing Coordinator is to plan, coordinate, and execute events and projects related to Graduate Affairs. This includes but is not limited to: assisting various graduate programs with events, setting up and tearing down event spaces, scheduling staff to work events, and ordering and setting up decorations for events. This role also includes leading promotion projects and marketing initiatives in the Graduate Affairs office. This includes but is not limited to: editing and proofing promotional material for flyers, emails, and websites, creating, posting, and tracking social media content and growth, creating email and text content for student campaigns, and managing inventory and recruitment materials. To assist the AVP of Graduate Affairs, this role also includes administrative tasks. This includes but is not limited to: facilitating P.O.’s, approvals, receipts, and invoices; coordinating schedules and managing meetings; reviewing and distributing timelines; managing and delegating tasks for student workers, placing orders for necessary office supplies and recruiting materials. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Thorough understanding of and commitment to the educational values of a Christian liberal arts institution 
  • Bachelor’s degree required  
  • Proven ability to problem-solve 
  • Analytical and resourceful 
  • Proven ability to delegate tasks and manage employees well. 
  • Strong working knowledge of basic computer applications, such as, but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc., and a willingness to learn other computer applications as necessary 
  • Proven ability to complete projects in a timely and efficient manner 
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills 
  • Must possess an eye for design and understand DBU values with the ability to craft content symbiotic with the DBU voice 
  • Must be a team-player who is customer-service centric, with the ability to organize, manage, problem-solve, focus in a fast-paced environment 

 

Necessary Technical Skills: 

  • Content writing

  • Adobe Suite 
  • Social Media 
  • Email (Campaign Monitor) 

 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Develop and manage event timelines, schedules, and work plans to ensure smooth execution of events and projects. 
  • Assist in creating marketing materials such as flyers, brochures, posters, and digital assets. 
  • Utilize various marketing channels including social media, email, and advertising to promote events and engage with our audience. 
  • Prepare and carry out a project budget. 
  • Predict resources needed to reach project objectives and manage resources in an efficient manner. 
  • Track and analyze project success throughout the full life cycle. 
  • Provide consistent project updates to management.  
  • Assist with social media content development and production. 
  • Take initiative to develop/suggest creative content that enhances the effectiveness of Graduate efforts. 
  • Manage contracts with multiple vendors for university partnerships and licensing. 
  • Liaise with other Graduate staff and broader University social media managers to ensure Graduate Communication is reflecting the voice, priorities, and branding of DBU. 
  • Participate in recruitment events hosted by the Graduate School.  
  • Participate in brainstorming and testing of new campaign ideas or conversion improvement projects. 
  • Help build strong relationships between Graduate Affairs and prospective students.  
  • Develop requested content from Graduate staff and faculty in a manner that aligns with DBU brands and platform best practices. 
  • Willingness to support and work with graduate recruiters and program directors to accomplish goals of the division.

WORK SCHEDULE:  

This is a full-time position with regular office hours between 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday, but occasionally flexible hours will be required including nights and weekends.  

WORK LOCATION: 

This position will work on the main campus, located at 3000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX 75211.
