We are currently looking for a Quality Engineering Technician to join our team in Holland, MI.
Job Summary
Join our dynamic and fast-paced test lab as a Test Lab Technician, where you'll inspect, test, and analyze seating products to ensure they meet BIFMA standards. This hands-on role involves setting up and executing tests, identifying flaws, and documenting results with precision. We are looking for candidates who have mechanical aptitude and strong observation skills. Your work will directly impact product quality and customer satisfaction through detailed reports.
Job Responsibilities
- Conducts a variety of tests on materials, components, and products using standard test methods and equipment.
- Documents test results accurately and prepares comprehensive test reports, summarizing findings and making recommendations.
- Assists with the development and maintenance of visual standards and inspection procedures.
- Provides basic training to production personnel on quality standards and inspection techniques.
- Participates in corrective action investigations, collecting data, analyzing trends, and identifying root causes.
- Works under moderate supervision, applying technical knowledge and experience to complete assigned tasks.
- Identifies and escalates complex issues to senior technicians or engineers.
- Must be able to perform all essential job functions with/without accommodation.
- Uses office automation, communication, software, and tools used in Haworth office environment.
- Performs other duties within scope as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Education: High School or equivalent
- Education Equivalency: Relevant certification or vocational training may be preferred
- Work Experience: 1 year Hands-on Mechanical Work experience
- The ability to stoop, crouch, twist, kneel, and walk while using hand tools, including moving/lifting test samples and equipment weighing up to 60 pounds unassisted with or without accommodation

- Applicants must be able to work in Holland, MI without relocation assistance.
- Applicants must possess an unrestricted right to work in the US to be eligible for this position.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience operating or maintaining mechanical test equipment
- Experience in test reporting techniques, including basic measuring techniques
- Experience and ability to document test results clearly by hand for customer facing reports
- Strong observation skills and attention to detail
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
- Experience in office furniture industry
