Job Duties Include:

  • Processes inpatient and outpatient admissions.
  • Registers patients for inpatient and outpatient clients according to established procedures.
  • Reads system messages daily and answers them in a timely manner.
  • Answers telephone calls and directs to proper extension.
  • Accepts patient payments and records appropriately according to Hospital policy.
  • Process anesthesia charges accordingly to established guidelines.
  • Answers billing questions or refers to appropriate person.
  • Performs month-end discharge of all recurring and physical therapy registrations, enters visit totals, and start dates, as delegated by Director.
  • Set up Industrial Accounts with account numbers quarterly, as delegated by Director.
  • Files patient folders/documents accordingly.
  • Reviews pre-registration report monthly.
  • Provides estimate of charges and collect upfront according to Hospital discount policy.
  • Confirms insurance eligibility for all registrations and admissions.
  • Prepares daily collections for deposit according to Department policy.
  • Performance of other duties, as assigned.
  • Assures that all tasks performed are in compliance with related State and Federal guidelines, rules and regulations.
  • Abides by Hospital policies and procedures as set forth in the Employee Handbook.

Requirements

  • High school diploma preferred or (GED) general education degree;
  • Three (3) plus years of relevant medical office experience to ensure you hit the ground running;
  • Experience with electronic health records is a plus, as you'll be navigating our systems with ease;
  • An enthusiastic personality coupled with excellent communication skills to connect with patients from all walks of life;
  • Computer proficiency is a must—familiarity with Microsoft Office and data entry systems will help you succeed in this role.
