Are you interested in harnessing technology and AI to transform healthcare?

At XiFin, we believe a healthier, more efficient healthcare system starts with strong financial and operational foundations. Our innovative technologies help diagnostic providers, laboratories, and healthcare systems manage complexity, drive better outcomes, and stay focused on what matters most: patient care.

We’re on a mission to simplify the business side of healthcare—and we know that mission takes people from all backgrounds and experiences. Whether you’re early in your career or bringing years of expertise, we welcome your perspective, your curiosity, and your passion. We value individuals who ask questions, challenge the status quo, and want to grow while making a real difference.

About the Role

The Staff Software Quality Assurance Engineer will lead the testing and quality assurance efforts for multiple applications across XiFin’s product portfolio. Our ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of software testing methodologies and be responsible for designing, documenting, and executing robust functional and automated tests strategies to identify testability and coordinate the resolution of any related issues not meeting our quality standards.

In this role, you will also be responsible for analyzing and improving our quality assurance processes and practices. You will lead your team in continuous improvement initiatives to drive engineering excellence and ensure the highest quality is built into our software at every step. To thrive in this role, you must excel in a dynamic environment and be equally committed to your team and to delivering the highest quality software.

You may be hired as a Senior, or Staff based on your depth of skill and breadth of experience.

This position will be located at our offices in San Diego, CA or Dallas, TX.

How you will make an impact:

In this role, you’ll:

  • Design, implement and execute robust functional (manual and automation) and non-functional (reliability, performance, scalability, compatibility, accessibility, etc.).
  • Evaluate testability across components, integration and End to End workflows in large scale and complex architectures.
  • Participate as a member of Quality Engineering team and contribute to development of UI and API test scenarios.
  • Lead quality from design to delivery to improve test coverage, defect detection, prevention and system reliability.
  • Work cross-functionally to identify and perform root cause analysis and provide actionable feedback on potential risks.
  • Drive quality strategies, metrics and improvements across the organization.
  • Recommend, integrate, and optimize testing and AI tools and frameworks to support scalable and maintainable quality solutions into STLC.
  • Advocate quality engineering best practices to promote quality upstream.
  • Ensure adherence to documented system standards within the project team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

What you will bring to the team:

We’re looking for someone with a growth mindset and a passion for learning. You might be a great fit if you:

  • Proactive ownership mindset: takes initiative to identify gaps, push for improvements, and drive quality end-to-end rather than waiting for direction.
  • Technical curiosity and systems thinking: able to dive deep into complex architectures, ask probing questions, and understand cross-layer dependencies (UI, API, DB).
  • Collaborative leadership with influence: communicates clearly, gives constructive feedback, builds consensus across engineering, product, and QA teams without relying solely on formal authority.
  • Resilience and adaptability in ambiguity: thrives in evolving requirements, shifting priorities, and imperfect specifications, while still delivering high quality outcomes.

Skills and experience you have:

You don’t need to check every box. We will consider a combination of education and experience, including:

  • B.S. in Computer Science or other Engineering discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • 10+ years of proven experience in software testing or quality engineering for large-scale complex architectures
  • Expertise in full-stack debugging, diagnosis, development, and testing methodologies.
  • Strong experience in designing, developing reliable and scalable UI, API manual and test automation solutions using tools Selenium, REST Assured, Postman, SOAP UI.
  • Proficiency in Jira, Bitbucket, GitHub, Git-Hub actions, TestRail, Zephyr Scale and Jenkins.
  • Extensive knowledge of SQL and application/database integration with ability to write complex SQL queries
  • Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python and Java.
  • Strong ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex system issues involving large multi-tiered applications.
  • Extensive experience working on agile projects in a team-based development environment
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, reporting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Financial, laboratory, pharmacy, or other medical industry background preferred
