Job Summary:

Performs a variety of administrative/accounting functions in accordance with standard procedures in one or more of the following areas:  Payroll department, Accounting department, Accounts Payable, or related financial area.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with processing Payroll and related activities for Miami-Dade County Public Schools. Activities include:
    • Processing MDCPS payroll file to pay EdFed members who are employees of MDCPS
    • Assisting with the setup and payroll processing of the MDCPS Summer Youth Internship Program (SYIP)
    • Assist with communicating to MDCPS those EdFed members/MDCPS employees that have elected direct deposit of their MDCPS payroll with EdFed (start, stop, change).
  • Assist members and staff with MDCPS & ACH payroll concerns.
  • Assist with the maintenance of loans paid from MDCPS Payroll and ACH distribution (e.g., change payment amount)
  • Assist with the maintenance of share distributions from MDCPS Payroll and ACH distribution (e.g., checking, savings, special shares, cross accounts)
  • Assist the Accounts Payable department in organizing and processing invoices. Activities include:
    • Downloading electronic invoices from various vendor portals (FPL, Comcast, Waste Management…)
    • Following up with invoice owners regarding late submissions/approvals
    • Collaborate with internal departments to resolve payment and invoice issues, providing exceptional customer service and maintaining strong professional relationships
    • Assisting with processing Corporate credit card statements and receipts
  • Assist the Accounting Department in organizing and digitizing member account supporting documentation (e.g., wire transfer support)
  • Produce basic reports
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of job duties, financial and member information
  • Backup for Token issuance & monitoring and user access and permissions
  • Performs other tasks/project as assigned by management

Skills

  • Proficiency in Symitar preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Proficiency in SAP Concur platform preferred
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Strong customer service skills and a commitment to providing exceptional service
  • Ability to adapt quickly and learn new tasks
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
