About the Job
PAR Electric, a leader in power and infrastructure construction, is seeking a Senior Estimator to join our Civil and Foundations Division. This role is critical in driving accurate, competitive, and strategic cost estimates for complex civil and drilling projects. As a Senior Estimator, you will play a key role in supporting business growth, ensuring project profitability, and providing leadership within the estimating team.
What You'll Do:What You Will Do
- Prepare, review, and finalize detailed cost estimates for civil and drilling projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor work.
- Analyze project drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare accurate estimates.
- Lead and coordinate the estimating process from concept through completion.
- Partner with project managers, engineers, and field teams to ensure estimates align with scope and execution plans.
- Conduct risk analysis, identify cost-saving opportunities, and provide recommendations to management.
- Negotiate and evaluate subcontractor and vendor pricing to ensure competitive bids.
- Support business development efforts with accurate cost data, budgets, and project forecasts.
- Mentor junior estimators and share best practices to strengthen the team.
What You Will Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- 5+ years of estimating experience in civil construction, drilling, or utility/infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of civil construction methods, drilling operations, and related cost factors.
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and contract documents.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
- Proven track record of preparing accurate, detailed, and competitive cost estimates.
