Assistant Casino Controller

Position Summary

The Assistant Casino Controller safeguards company assets, ensures casino and non-casino revenue is accurately recorded, and oversees cashiering/cage and drop & count operations across WarHorse Gaming. This role supports daily/weekly/month-end reporting, internal controls, and regulatory compliance while hiring, developing, and leading team members. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage casino cashiering, cage, drop, and count room operations; maintain physical safeguards over monies, forms, and records.

  • Ensure accuracy of recorded revenue and adherence to company policies, internal controls, and gaming regulations.

  • Monitor preparation of daily, weekly, and month-end financial reports; support consolidations and special projects for the Casino Controller.

  • Serve as intermediary between Revenue Audit and Cage/Drop & Count; participate in monthly compliance meetings.

  • Select, schedule, train, coach, and develop staff; drive engagement and performance.

  • Address guest and team member issues with patience, tact, and diplomacy; manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

  • Uphold WarHorse’s Mission, Vision, Values, and SPIRIT principles; follow all company safety standards.

     

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.

  • 3–6 years progressive casino finance management experience required.

  • 2+ years supervisory/leadership and coaching experience.

  • Expert knowledge of Casino Cash Operations & Compliance; experience with state/federal agencies & gaming regulatory boards.

  • Advanced Excel; proficiency with SharePoint & Microsoft Office; strong project management skills.

  • Ability to secure and maintain a Nebraska Gaming License; valid Driver’s License.

     

Schedule & Travel

  • Full-time; typical days Tuesday–Saturday.

  • Evenings, weekends, and holidays required based on business need.

  • Travel to all locations and HCI offices; some out-of-area/overnight travel may be expected.
