Job Overview
The College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Cincinnati is seeking a motivated and student-focused Admissions Counselor to join our Office of Recruitment & Enrollment. In this role, you will guide prospective students as they explore the opportunities within Arts and Sciences, supporting them through the college search and application process. As a representative of A&S, you will share the breadth of our programs, highlight the value of a liberal arts education, and showcase the experiences that make our college a destination for discovery and growth. You will play a key role in advancing A&S recruitment efforts, fostering meaningful connections with students and families, and contributing to the college’s enrollment goals.
This hybrid position requires three days per week in the office on UC’s Uptown Campus and two days working remotely. As an Admissions Counselor for Arts and Sciences, you will represent the college at high school visits, college fairs, community outreach programs, and on-campus events. We are seeking someone passionate about higher education and committed to expanding college access, who is eager to grow a career in admissions. Essential Functions
- Serve as a representative of the College of Arts and Sciences to ensure enrollment goals are met while maintaining fiscal responsibility. Act as a primary resource for prospective students, families, counselors, and community partners interested in A&S programs. Develop and implement initiatives that showcase the breadth and value of an Arts and Sciences education. Make data-driven decisions to coordinate and execute travel, including college fairs, middle/high school visits, community organizations, and community colleges.
- Travel extensively during key time periods (8 – 12 weeks in the fall and 3 – 6 weeks in the spring) and work evenings, weekends, and non-traditional hours as needed to effectively support both on-campus and off-campus recruitment efforts.
- Maintain and utilize information about prospective students and schools to advise, encourage, and support students from first inquiry through application, admission, and enrollment in A&S.
- Support strategic enrollment priorities for the College of Arts and Sciences, with particular emphasis on expanding college access and representation among diverse student populations (including underrepresented, high-achieving, transfer, out-of-state, and international students).
- Implement and clearly explain admissions policies and procedures, ensuring students and families understand the pathway to Arts and Sciences programs.
- May coordinate specialized programmatic areas that advance A&S recruitment goals, such as on-campus and off-campus events, student ambassador/tour guide programs, outreach and access initiatives, communications and marketing, transfer recruitment, or community partnerships.
- Evaluate applications for admission to the College of Arts and Sciences and make holistic, well-informed decisions that align with enrollment goals and uphold university standards of fairness and accuracy.
- Use a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to track interactions, maintain records, and prepare reports. Assist in analyzing data to inform future recruitment planning and strategy.

Required Education
- Bachelor’s Degree
Required Trainings/Certifications
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable record.
- Some positions may require a valid passport.
Additional Qualifications Considered
• Past tour guide or admissions student worker experience
• Comfortability with public speaking to both small and large groups
• Desire to use data to help manage a recruitment strategy
