We have an exciting Industrial Maintenance Engineer Trainer opportunity in our Guymon processing facility. In this highly impactful role, you will be a key facilities/maintenance/engineering department member. This position is responsible for the orientation of new employees to the maintenance department to ensure all required certification training is completed, standard operating procedures are acknowledged, acts as a Procter for level assessments, and ensures all new hires understand all Company requirements for workplace and food safety protocols. Additionally, this position is the liaison between the Company and third-party vendors utilized for competency and skills-based training.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, standardize, and implement training programs that apply engineering principles (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic) to industrial maintenance systems.
  • Design competency assessments and technical evaluations aligned with engineering standards, ensuring trainees demonstrate the ability to apply scientific/engineering concepts in practice.
  • Provide classroom and hands-on instruction on engineering fundamentals, including electrical, mechanical, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
  • Collaborate with engineering leadership to ensure training supports capital projects, reliability engineering initiatives, and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as a technical liaison with third-party engineering training providers and certification bodies.
  • Supervise and mentor engineering trainees, evaluating their progress and providing technical guidance on applying engineering/scientific methods.
  • Develop and maintain training documentation, technical manuals, and engineering-based SOPs.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering safety standards, food safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
  • Design and utilize engineering training aids and simulation boards (pneumatics, electrical, hydraulics, mechanical) to reinforce applied engineering principles during instruction.
  • Reinforce engineering and technical competencies introduced during new hire orientation and advanced training, ensuring concepts are applied correctly with strict adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
  • Support recruiting and selection of maintenance technicians by assessing technical aptitude, interviewing candidates, and recommending hires aligned with the engineering training pathway.
  • Develop supplemental engineering training modules as needed to address emerging technologies, reliability initiatives, or plant-specific challenges.
  • Provide structured feedback and recognition based on objective performance evaluations, ensuring technicians progress through engineering competency levels.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/electrical engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong knowledge in Electrical Engineering, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, and Mechanical Maintenance
  • Experience working in an industrial manufacturing setting, preferably in a maintenance or engineering position.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Must be proficient in English language, reading and writing 

Preferred:

  • 5-10 years of hands-on experience in the food service industry
  • Welding knowledge
  • Experience in training
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)

  • Primarily A shift, but required by the business

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move around the facility and primarily will be on the production floor. 
  • The employee must regularly lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. 
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • This position is primarily on the production floor and will have limited office time.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration.
  • The noise level in the work environment requires you to wear hearing protection at all times on the production floor.
  • The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management. After-hours, weekends, and overnight travel as requested.
