Now, we’re looking for a Compliance Specialist (also known as Donor Compliance Specialist) who will ensure donor intent is honored, policies are followed, and trust is upheld in every step of the giving process.

Why This Role Matters

The Compliance Specialist is a cornerstone of our mission. You’ll collaborate across teams to draft, analyze, and review Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) while ensuring accuracy and integrity. In this role, your work ensures transparency and accountability while strengthening relationships with donors, campus partners, and colleagues.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare, analyze, and review MOUs to align with donor intent and organizational policies.
  • Identify potential compliance concerns, recommend solutions, and ensure clarity in gift agreements.
  • Support the scholarship awarding process and record fund information in multiple systems.
  • Provide data-driven responses to questions from donors and partners.
  • Apply IRS regulations, organizational principles, and industry best practices to uphold compliance standards.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of full-time experience reviewing contracts, paralegal work, or similar work experience
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office, particularly basic knowledge in Word and fundamental knowledge in Excel (i.e. sorting, formatting, filtering, and formulas such as VLOOKUP)
  • Experience gathering, organizing, and presenting data in a concise and meaningful way
  • Excellent organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities
  • Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal skills with a customer-first mindset

What we Want

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field
  • Experience using a customer relationship management (CRM) software
  • Experience with non-profits, ideally in higher education

If you’re a detail-oriented problem solver with an investigative mindset, someone who thrives in navigating gray areas, analyzing complex situations, and presenting clear solutions, this is your chance to join a team where your skills directly shape the future of Kansas State University. Apply today to become our next Compliance Specialist and make your career matter!
