Compensation
$26 per hour
Job Summary
The Technical Services Intern is responsible for tasks and projects related to testing, gradation, and quality control of aggregate, asphalt, and ready-mix products.
Main Responsibilities
- Read, understand, and have a good working knowledge of the basic specifications, principles, and products associated with the construction / aggregate / concrete / asphalt industry
- Inspect products for quality, identify and take corrective action as necessary
- Ensure that accurate test results are reported daily
- Review and analyze test results to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications as required
- Ensure all quality control operations and activities are conducted in conformance with company policies, regulatory agencies and acceptable working practices are in compliance with standards
- Recommend measures to improve quality control methods, equipment, performance, service, safety and quality of products
- Other duties as assigned
Education and/or Work Experience
- Must be actively working towards a college degree.

- Ability to work independently and as a team
- Basic math skills with the ability to calculate and analyze data
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Must have the ability to work well with all levels of the organization
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong tendency to take initiative
Physical Requirements
- Ability to utilize hands and fingers in order to type and carry reports should the need require
- Ability to stand, walk, and reach with arms and hands throughout the workday should the need arise
- Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch should the need arise
- Ability to sit for a long period of time, possibly more than 90% of the workday
- Ability to see clearly or with assistance via necessary correction
