GCG is currently seeking a Quality Engineering Technician to join the Paige team at our Columbus, Nebraska facility!
In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring that products, materials, and processes meet established quality standards. You’ll conduct inspections, tests, and audits while supporting process improvements to enhance manufacturing efficiency and product reliability.
This position requires strong attention to detail, technical proficiency, and the ability to collaborate across departments. If you are motivated by problem-solving and continuous improvement, this opportunity will allow you to make a direct impact on production quality and process performance.
Hours: 7:00am-4:00pm Mon-Fri
Location: 1679 East 29th Columbus, Nebraska 68601
What You'll Do
Develop and maintain process flow charts for production operations
Initiate and manage Engineering Change Notices (ECNs)
Perform functional and lifecycle testing on cables and products
Conduct audits of production floor processes for compliance
Assist with calibration and maintenance of testing equipment
Support the creation and updating of work instructions
Verify incoming components through receiving inspection to ensure supplier compliance
Oversee manufacturing processes to confirm alignment with engineering documentation
Perform first article inspections and assist with supplier product validation
Test parts electrically (Hi-Pot, Continuity, Insulation Resistance)
Troubleshoot molding issues
Assist with ongoing workplace safety initiatives
Complete additional tasks and projects as assigned
What You’ll Bring
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred
- 2+ Years of experience in a quality or engineering environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Strong attention to detail with sound decision-making and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within teams
Excellent recordkeeping and reporting accuracy
Knowledge of manufacturing resources and production processes
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to read and interpret blueprints
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds frequently
