Systems Administrator, Lyra Technology Group

Lyra Technology Group is looking for a full-time Systems Administrator to join the team at one of our operating companies, Cross the Divide. The Systems Administrator will support Cross the Divide clients with all manner of IT help desk tickets, projects, maintenance and troubleshooting. The Systems Administrator will thrive by working closely with clients to meet their IT requirements and solution needs.  This role will also provide excellent customer support and ability to translate difficult IT issues/solutions into layman’s terms; as well as handling difficult and escalated issues.

 Cross the Divide is a technology services company dedicated to bringing non-profit organizations the information technology tools they need to strengthen and support their programs.  Their client list includes the American Lung Association, Grid Alternatives, Habitat For Humanity, National Center for Lesbian Rights and many other exciting non-profit organizations.

 

Your work as the Systems Administrator includes several components:

  • Help Desk Tickets
    • Update and resolve Help Desk tickets in a professional and timely manner .
    • Follows defined workflow and processes for IT administrative tasks.
    • Research, install, test, and troubleshoot software and hardware issues.
    • Assist with escalated tickets as needed, providing guidance and assistance to team members.
    • Educate users on applications and resolutions in a prompt and professional manner.
    • Prioritize tickets based on client needs and priorities.
    • Coordinate Helpdesk response to incidents and outages.
  • Internal CTD Projects & Documentation
    • Plan, execute, and document large-scale IT projects (such as migrations, server changes, and software rollouts).
    • Define and prioritize the Help Desk Team’s IT projects with help desk tickets and adjust workload as necessary.
    • Proactively maintain and define internal documentation, workflows, guides, and processes.
    • Develop and maintain automations and scripts to simplify complex tasks with PowerShell or Graph.
  • Server & Network Maintenance
    • Maintain servers and cloud systems, including network hardware, firewalls, virtual servers, Exchange and Teams.
    • Monitor back-end systems and networks using all tools available, with an eye towards proactive fixes that minimize user impact.
    • Monitor and maintain all CTD-administered cloud services (O365, Azure, email smarthosts etc).
  • Teamwork & Collaboration
    • Collaborate with team members to ensure high levels of customer support and satisfaction.
    • Educate CTD staff on best practices and proper troubleshooting.
    • Adapt to variety of work responsibilities and settings.
    • Seek out and resolve pain points, difficult processes, or points of confusion for helpdesk staff to improve overall workflows.
  • Miscellaneous
    • Provide off-hours coverage as needed.
    • Assist clients in all IT-related decisions regarding purchasing, infrastructure, or organizational needs, ensuring that their decisions are supportable, standardized, cost-effective and secure.
    • Proactively research new technologies and keep abreast of current trends in security, standards, and software.
    • Take initiative to ensure the security and satisfaction of both clients and other CTD team members daily.

 

Our ideal Systems Administrator has the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.
  • 8+ years of relevant IT experience.
  • 2+ years of system administrator experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of IT best practices and processes.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills are essential.
  • Excellent level of client service experience.

 

The targeted base compensation for this role is $75,000-$90,000  per year and will operate on a fully remote basis. If you're motivated by meaningful client relationships and a dynamic work environment—we want to hear from you.
