Specific Duties:

  • Supervises team of Waste Checkers on site and provides guidance and leadership to all other Hub personnel on discrepancies and non-conforming waste.
  • Responsible for engaging in and promoting safe work behaviors in a manner that is consistent with Crystal Clean safety guidelines.
  • Experienced in handling, receiving, classifying and transporting hazardous waste.
  • Experienced in hazardous waste manifesting/BOL requirements.
  • Review inbound waste based on chemical compatibility, RCRA and DOT constraints.
  • Perform field tests and proper sampling of various waste streams as necessary at Hubs.
  • Guide Hub personnel on waste and paperwork discrepancies and non-conformances to ensure compliant shipping and transportation.
  • Provide training to Hub personnel on operational compliance.
  • Maintains compliance with all applicable Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements.
  • Assist Hubs with Consent Decree compliance and tracking.
  • Adhere to all corporate policies and standards including but not limited to environmental, health, & safety (EHS), human resources, facility, equipment, operations, and maintenance.
  • Participate as active member of the Hub spill cleanup team.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to interact professionally with sales team, all Hub employees, and other CC locations and corporate personnel.
  • Ability to operate equipment such as electronic mobile devices, computers, office equipment, etc.
  • Ability to operate equipment such as forklift, drum dolly, pallet jacks, all truck equipment, etc.
  • Ability to use NetSuite and as well as navigate 3rd party systems for waste tracking and lookups.

Work Experience:

  • Hazardous material management
  • Lab Packing services a plus
  • RCRA/Hazwoper experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint)

Education, Certificates, Licenses, or Designations:

  • BS in physical Science preferred (5 years Experience equivalent)
  • Certified Hazardous Materials Manager – plus
  • Valid drivers license

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment, which may include a respirator, steel toe boots, gloves, uniform, safety glasses, reflective vest, and hard hats

Physical Requirements:

  • Occasional lifting of materials that typically weigh 54-80lbs
  • Occasional pushing/pulling of 16-55 gallon drums or larger containers of waste/product using CC-approved equipment for safe material handling, drum weight may exceed 400lbs
  • Occasional lifting of drums weighing up to 100lbs.
  • All applicants must pass the pre-employment physical including drug & alcohol screening.

Work Environment:While performing essential duties of this position an individual regularly works in a variety of environments, and is required to see, talk, hear, reach, stand, walk, drive frequently, and comfortably use electronic devices and other office equipment. Essential duties require bending, squatting, climbing, lifting and twisting frequently. Noise level in the workplace can vary based upon the work environment. The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $70,000 - $80,000, and includes benefits such as the following:
