TITLE: HSE/SEMS Coordinator

FULL-TIME/PART-TIME: Full-Time
SCHEDULE: Mon -Thurs - 9 hours (in-office)/Friday - 4 hours (remote)
FLSA STATUS: Salary, Exempt
POSITION SUMMARY: Provide HSE and SEMS support to W&T's operations.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Support corporate operations team for coordination of HSE matters.
• Be the key focal point for W&T's SEMS program, with support of the rest of the HSE Department
• Have an active role in managing the MOC, PSR, Employee Participation Plan and other programs as assigned
• Ensure all Operating Procedures are reviewed annually and documented by the field
• Coordinate with field personnel on revisions of facility operating procedures
• Administer SEMS computer-based training modules
• Provide other SEMS-related training for engineering and field personnel, as needed
• Coordinate PHAs, PHA revalidations, HazOps, HazlDs with engineers and third party facilitators as necessary
• Administer Contractor Safety Management and Training programs.
• Conduct and document internal quarterly SEMS audits and annual SEMS Review
• Coordinate third party and BSEE SEMS audits
• Periodically review SEMS policies and procedures, revise as necessary
• Maintain all SEMS documentation in an orderly fashion
• Be in the HSE on-call rotation for incident notifications from the field.
• Participate in Incident Investigations
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's Degree in a safety or management systems related field or similar required
• 2+ years oil and gas industry experience and familiarity with safety & environmental management systems required
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
• Proficiency in software programs such as Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook and other related software required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Advanced Degree in a safety or management systems related field and/or professional certification from BCSP (CSP, SMS) preferred
• 5+ years offshore oil and gas industry experience preferred and familiarity with 30 CFR 250 Subpart S, API Recommended Practice 75, BSEE/USCG compliance, and related programs preferred
• HSE Auditing experience preferred
• Incident investigation experience preferred
• Experience working with database programs preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER WORK REQUIREMENTS:
• Self-motivated with ability to work independently is a must
• Organizational and multi-tasking skills
WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
• Occasional travel to field locations (5-15%).
• Occasional lifting up to 10 pounds.
• Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
