- In collaboration with design leaders and team members, conceptualize design solutions and develop them throughout all phases of a project. Create innovative design concepts that synthesize our clients’ culture, goals and aspirations to deliver solutions responsive specifically to them.
- Perform in a supporting role to senior design leaders, effectively translating shared design goals and ideas for both team and client. Focus on schematic design, and design development, while also collaborating closely with project architects to guide detailing and construction documentation. Provide guidance on design intent during the construction administration phase.
- Prepare and direct the preparation of client presentation materials, particularly our 2D and 3D design visualizations, to convey the design in a compelling and sophisticated manner. Lead design presentations when called upon to do so in support of the project and team.
- Work within our culture of being an integrated practice by closely collaborating with interior designers and typology subject matter experts on holistic design solutions from exterior to interior.
- Collaborate with technical leaders and engineers to employ sensitive consideration of building systems. Coordinate design intent with other disciplines.
- Integrate performance-based and sustainable design strategies into design solutions, including supporting the building performance group in their energy modeling efforts.
- Expect to apply these approaches in the design of large-scale projects and/or multiple projects simultaneously.
- Mentor and grow emerging professionals. You will assist in nurturing an environment that exemplifies collaboration, experimentation, innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor or Master degree in Architecture required. Bachelor or Master degree in Architecture from an accredited program preferred.
- Minimum 8 years of related professional experience required.
- Architectural Registration in the United States preferred.
- LEED accreditation preferred.
- Knowledge of building codes and requirements.
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Technical knowledge of exterior and interior materials and building assemblies.
- Must be a critical thinker.
- Must be highly analytical.
- Must be a fully qualified professional able to perform work with a high degree of latitude, with some ambiguity in work.
- Ability to coordinate multiple disciplines to achieve design intent.
- Command of Revit, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office required. Additional 3D modeling experience in Rhino or other comparable software preferred.
- Experience with one or more real-time rendering and 3D rendering software such as Enscape, Twinmotion, and/or V-Ray required, as demonstrated through a portfolio of past and current visualization work.
- Experience with digital media creation and editing in the Adobe Creative Cloud applications required.
- Some experience in computational design tools such as Grasshopper and Dynamo preferred.
