Description
California Faucets is looking to bring on a 1st shift Maintenance Manager. This role is based on site in our Huntington Beach, CA facility. This will be a Monday through Friday, full time position.
The role of the Facilities & Maintenance Manager is critical for ensuring the smooth and continuous operation of all equipment and facilities required to conduct our business. The Manger is responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of company property as well as the proper execution of special projects, preventative maintenance schedules, and equipment installations. The Manager is responsible for overseeing routine building maintenance tasks as well as maintenance tasks in one or more fields (e.g., carpentry, electrical, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, etc.). The Manager will also prioritize tasks, proactively identify improvement opportunities, and provide leadership, training, and feedback to the maintenance team.
In addition to these duties, the Facilities & Maintenance Manager will:
- Supervise, lead, and coordinate the daily activities of the maintenance team to include maintenance and janitorial crew.
- Ensure all preventive and corrective building maintenance tasks which may involve carpentry, painting, flooring, plumbing, metal fabrication, welding, heating, air conditioning, and electrical work, are completed accurately and timely.
- Troubleshoots various electrical problems involving electrical lines, lighting, switches, and controls; ensure necessary replacements or repairs as necessary using a variety of materials, tools, supplies and equipment.
- Assists in performing the operation, adjustment and repair of air conditioning and heating units, fans, and their components.
- Performs metal fabrication tasks using saws, grinders, Mig & Tig welding equipment, plasma cutter and gas cutting torches.
- May require working weekends, holidays and other alternative schedules assigned and participate in on-call status.
- Prepares work orders, inspection forms, and other documents as needed.
- Manages employee work schedule, approves/denies time off requests, and manages time and attendance.
- Performs annual performance reviews, makes personnel and pays recommendations to management.
- Assists in training new maintenance employees.
- Communicates with employees across the company as needed to keep stakeholders updated on the status of maintenance projects.
- Maintains a safe work environment and ensures all employees comply with appropriate safety procedures.
· Teaches, guides, oversees, and organizes employees to complete maintenance tasks and projects.
· Promotes cooperation and positive communication with co-workers.
· Oversees the day-to-day functions of assigned department/work area by providing guidance and direction.
· Coordinates efforts with other departments throughout the organization to complete projects in a timely manner.
· Performs additional assignments per supervisor's direction.

Requirements
The Following Personal Attributes/Skills are Required:
· Ability to refine and maintain a comprehensive Preventive Maintenance Program
· Ability to refine and maintain a strategic spare parts program.
· Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
· Familiarity with Programmable Logic Controls
· Familiar with Boiler, air compressor & dryer and water purification and chiller equipment.
· Familiarity with welding processes
· Able to proactively drive cleanliness, organization & efficient workspaces and behaviors.
· Seasoned electrical, mechanical & plumbing troubleshooting skills.
· Experience supporting tenant improvement, relocation or other initiatives requiring compliance with regulatory standards.
· Ensures safe practices such as wearing proper PPE, prevention of trip & slip hazards and compliance to machine guarding and hot work processes.
· Able to read, write, speak and understand English fluently. Spanish language a plus.
· Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to meet or exceed the company’s attendance and punctuality standards.
· Literacy in desktop technology (e.g., Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook, etc.)
· Understanding of industry best practices and technology trends.

Environmental and Safety Considerations:
· Possible exposure to heat, cold, dust, and moderate noise when working indoors.
· May be required to work with chemical or paint solutions, power tools, forced air.

· Works with cleaning fluids and other solvents.
· Works with electricity.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position directly leads, coaches, and trains a team of Maintenance Technicians. He/she is responsible for safety initiatives, managing work schedules/assignments, setting clear performance standards, delivering feedback, and coaching team members in all aspects of job performance.
People Interface:
The position requires contact across all departments at all levels of the company. Maintenance and facilities requests will come from many sources. This position must be able to respond and communicate effectively with all requestors. Contact with other team members and departments is required.
Decision Making:
The position requires working from detailed instructions as well as the use of judgment to plan and perform decisions to solve a problem or select a course of action for a standard or recognized method of operation.
Supervision Received:
Under general supervision of the Director of Operational Excellence, assignments are both task-oriented and objective-oriented. Follows established procedures for routine work; receives specific instruction on non-routine problems. Able to propose solutions and independently make decisions within a framework agreed upon with direct supervisor.
Accountabilities:
After adequate training, the position requires a level of accountability to complete a pre-determined amount of maintenance projects per shift. Accountable for both individual tasks as well as the performance of the maintenance team. Responsible for ensuring equipment is maintained.
This position is also responsible for supporting a variety of processes and equipment including, but not limited to, conventional & CNC machines, Plating, Powder Coating, Sandblasting, Polishing, Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD), and cleaning processes.
Education and Experience:
The minimum educational requirement is a two-year degree in a related field or equivalent Trade School certification. Minimum of at least 5+ years working experience in facility maintenance and at least one (1) year of leadership experience directly supervising a team. Must also have a basic understanding of electrical, plumbing and carpentry.
