Description
The Vice President, Infrastructure and Operations (I&O) is the most senior role in the I&O function within the technology team, accountable for all I&O activities throughout the organization. This position is responsible for the delivery of all IT infrastructure and related IT operations used to enable business capabilities and services across the enterprise. This role reports to the CTO and has leadership responsibilities for client systems, mobility and asset management, voice/data network operations, system administration, change management, disaster recovery, the IT service desk, enterprise monitoring, midrange hardware support, ERP infrastructure support, and cloud infrastructure support. The Vice President of I&O brings experiences, knowledge, and future vision for transforming the I&O function including its strategy, operating model, product and service offerings and workforce. They are a senior stakeholder in all relationships with externally sourced infrastructure and operations capabilities. As a key member of the senior IT leadership team this role contributes to the development and execution of the enterprise-wide IT strategy and is responsible for ensuring I&O strategy is fully aligned, positioning I&O to deliver compelling business value.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead strategic and tactical level planning in partnership with peers in IT to develop and execute I&O strategy and ensure delivery of supportable technology solutions that meet business needs and objectives.
- Oversee the implementation and management of I&O offerings, capabilities and initiatives, ensuring they meet the needs of the organization.
- Accountable for a high-performing computing infrastructure companywide. This includes, but is not limited to, planning and management of computer operations and production support, systems and database administration, release management, business continuity, network operations, telecommunications, midrange and client systems support, cloud services, enterprise monitoring, financial management, IT service desk, and field support.
- Collaborate with technology and business leaders on the service portfolio and governance required to prioritize resources, including budget. Works with key stakeholders to measure and prioritize technical debt remediation.
- Participate in the intake and prioritization process as appropriate to provide estimates of level of effort, complexity and impact or dependencies on existing workloads.
- Build successful stakeholder relationships with other IT and key business stakeholders by developing a clear understanding of business needs, acting as a trusted advisor, and ensuring cost effective delivery of IT services to meet those needs.
- Lead the I&O roadmap and optimization strategy by building streamlined and effective solutions that enable key initiatives while identifying opportunities for process improvement.
- Improve IT resilience by executing strategies that improve reliability and disaster recovery readiness.
Additional Job Responsibilities
- Keeps track of trends and provides direction on what emerging technologies should be incorporated into I&O products and services to successfully deliver the overall IT strategy.
- Develop and execute change management strategies to ensure successful adoption of new offerings, systems and processes.
- Provides strategic direction and oversight for the full life cycle of IT systems, working in close partnership with peers, and identifies where common approaches, solutions, and shared platforms provided by I&O could drive efficiency.
- Operates a formal governance mechanism to establish and monitor effective controls for the processes and functions performed by I&O teams. Supports periodic reviews by audit teams, compliance teams and other risk-related functions as required.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to I&O team members, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement while ensuring the reliable delivery of IT services and operations.
- Determine optimal staffing models to support required delivery including resource utilization and skill sets.
- Provide daily operational oversight of activities including project deliverables and break fix activities while being a point of escalation for all I&O related issues.
- Develops and controls the annual I&O budget to ensure that it’s consistent with the overall strategic objectives of IT and the enterprise and is within plan. Creates a culture of continuous cost optimization.
- Directs the development of an I&O sourcing strategy and provides executive oversight for strategic vendor and partner relationship management. This includes the management and administration of I&O related contracts including purchase, maintenance and hosting agreements.
- Supports the CTO and VP, Enterprise Architecture by implementing infrastructure solutions that align to the enterprise architecture framework and roadmap.
- Continuously evaluates the business value of I&O, including the use of metrics such as Kep Performance Indicators, Outcome Driven Metrics and Objectives and Key Results.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 15 years of experience in Infrastructure and Operations, with at least 10 years in a leadership role.
- Significant experience in the design, implementation and management of enterprise I&O capabilities.
- Strong knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning systems and processes.
- Strong knowledge of key infrastructure systems including voice/data, data center (colocation), client and midrange systems, IaaS and PaaS technologies.
- Knowledge of the planning, organization, implementation and management of I&O capabilities.
- Familiarity with information management practices, system development life cycle management, IT services management, agile and lean methodologies, infrastructure and operations, and enterprise architecture and ITIL frameworks.
- Understanding of existing, new and emerging technologies, such as generative AI and its applications.
- Ability to meet expected delivery dates and the tasks necessary to achieve objectives.
- Experience migrating ERP systems to the Cloud (SAP ECC to Oracle Fusion preferred), data platforms (MS Fabric, Power BI), and CRM (Salesforce).
- Excellent analytical, planning, and organizational skills with a practical approach to problem solving and decision making.
- Excellent written, verbal communications and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
- Bilingual in Spanish/English is a plus
