Xylem is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Accountant to join our Charlotte-based Accounting team. Reporting to the Director of Accounting, this role plays a vital part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with SOX requirements, and supporting core accounting functions including general ledger, intercompany transactions, fixed assets, and inventory. The Senior Accountant will partner closely with cross-functional teams, contribute to process improvements, and provide critical insights that help drive operational and financial excellence across the organization.
This role will be hybrid and sit at our enterprise collaboration hub in Charlotte, NC.
Sr. Accountant Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting
- Subject Matter Expert supporting general accounting/ledger, fixed assets, and intercompany
- Support cost accounting activities for daily cycle count and annual physical inventory
- Timely and accurate journal entry preparation and posting
- Support month end and year end close process
- Timely and accurate submission of monthly roll forwards, supplementals, and quarterly forms using OneStream
- Preparation and distribution of monthly/quarterly accounting reporting
Audit and Compliance
- Distribute and maintain documentation to support Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance
- Support internal and external financial and SOX audits
- Account reconciliation, analysis, and timely resolution of reconciling items
- Maintain, update, and develop desktop procedures, as needed
Stakeholder Relationship Management
- Partner with ERP Program team to support migration activities, as needed
- Partnering with and assisting Accounting Manager and Director of Accounting
- Special projects as deemed appropriate
Sr. Accountant Qualifications
- BS degree in Accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3-5 years general accounting experience
- Demonstrated experience in resolving non-routine and semi-complex accounting activities. such as account reconciliations and journal entries
- Strong analytical, prioritizing, and problem-solving skills
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency with standard Microsoft Office products
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and adapt to changing responsibilities
- SAP experience preferred
- Experience with consolidation and financial reporting tools, OneStream preferred
The estimated salary range for this position is $80,000 to $105,000 plus bonus. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.
