This position will support grant-funded work for the New Hampshire IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence (NH-INBRE) and Precision Manufacturing Education and Training Grant as well as support the Academic Dean’s Office and Academic Programs.
Duties/Responsibilities
KSC Liaison to New Hampshire IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence (NH-INBRE) (50%)
Provide all administrative support for KSC engagement in INBRE, including but not limited to:
Responsible for: record keeping, travel arrangements, budgets, student research time sheets, and other duties related to INBRE grant implementation.
Perform assessments and research related to the INBRE program, generate an annual report, and work with internal and external audiences. Assemble data, prepare administrative reports, handle communications, and represent Academic Affairs as requested.
Manage internal research training grant for faculty investigators. Communicate annual calls for research proposals, such as pilot project awards, workshops, events, and opportunities for INBRE-related activities. Work with the student INBRE representative group for annual planning.
Connect with NH-INBRE state leadership for program planning and on-campus implementation.
Coordinate the summer undergraduate research INBRE program.
Work with the KSC INBRE Steering Committee to manage faculty and student issues and promote the success of the program, preparing agendas, reporting minutes, and ensuring action items move forward; escalating concerns to Academic Affairs as appropriate.
Assist with the development and expansion of new academic programs related to INBRE and related industry networks in biomedical and biotechnology.
Precision Manufacturing Education and Training Grant (25%)
Ordering equipment and supplies for faculty and staff to support the precision optics certificate program and workshops
Engaging with collaborators, the optics advisory group (MOAB), and coordinating logistics for meetings, events, and outreach
Coordinating faculty and staff appointments and processing stipends for precision optics-related effort
Assisting with developing presentation materials, flyers, website content, surveys, and workshop materials for precision optics
Participating in meetings with the precision optics team to strategize the work and plan activities.
Organizing and coordinating logistics for precision optics workshops, including communication with participants, tracking attendance, and managing scheduling.
Working in coordination with USNH-sponsored programs (SPA) for grant-related tracking and reporting
Other duties as assigned.
Support the Academic Dean’s Office and Academic Programs (25%)
Support students, families, faculty, and staff who stop by the Academic Dean’s Office.
Support and work with academic departments: History, English, Modern Language
Enter course schedules into the system.
Enter changes in course schedules and report course section changes to the Registrar, Dean’s Office, and classroom scheduling office.
Facilitate room reservations for meetings, seminars, and workshops when requested by faculty.
Make room reservations for meetings, seminars, and workshops
Order office supplies
Enter requisitions in UShop and generate purchase orders
Process faculty reimbursements as needed
Create documents and forms that are requested by faculty
Provide Workday process support for faculty
Other duties as assigned
Support the Safety and Construction Sciences Department
Collaborate with SASS and the department to organize the Career and Internship Fairs
Collaborate with Admissions and the Graduate Coordinator to support their Graduate Programs.
Update and create new CTE articulation agreements
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience:
High school graduation and two years of related experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Project management involving cross-campus teams and specialty areas to accomplish research, outreach, academic initiatives, and events and presentations.
Graphic design skills leading to production of posters and publicity for internal and external use as well as presentations.
Understanding and experience in website design.
Ability to serve as liaison between Academic Affairs and other offices particularly Admissions, Office of Sponsored Projects and Research, and Marketing and Communications.
Familiarity and experience with advising, curriculum, and financial aid.
General writing and editing skills as needed for regular office reports and other documents.
Investigation and research skills for exploring and launching new projects and initiatives.
Event planning and management experience.
Ability to maintain partnerships with outside entities such as high schools, community colleges, and corporate
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
Grant writing and editing experience including managing budgets and deliverable outcomes from grants.
Familiarity and experience with advising, curriculum, and financial aid at KSC.
Understanding and experience with administrative software such as a student information system like Banner, Self Service, etc.
Familiarity with grant work and KSC history and implementation.
Ability to be part of a department valuing teamwork and shared responsibilities.
Demonstrate strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize and shift or share tasks to meet new demands or tasks.
Classroom teaching experience and knowledge of faculty tasks and perspectives.
