Description


Claims Specialist II supports the Property and Casualty Claims team in managing client claims from initial reporting through resolution. This position involves communicating with clients and insurance carriers, assisting with claim reporting, providing advocacy on behalf of clients, and collaborating with the Claims team to ensure accurate and timely servicing of claims.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

Respond to the day-to-day servicing needs of clients in accordance with standard procedures, including but not limited to the following tasks:

  • Handle Commercial Lines claims activity and report claims to insurance carriers.
  • Refer emergency restoration service contractors and/or other vendors as needed on property losses.
  • Input claim information into the agency management  system and maintain claim diaries for status updates.
  • Notify Claims Manager of large loss activity in accordance with agency procedures.
  • Serve as an in-house resource and communicate proactively with clients, the claims team, and management.
  • Communicate verbally and in writing with insurance  company claim adjusters.
  • Review carrier coverage position correspondence and  dispute as appropriate.
  • Provide quarterly claim reviews for assigned commercial  clients.
  • Advocate on behalf of clients across all lines of  claims to achieve positive outcomes.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Have at least 3 years of Commercial Lines Claims Experience
  • Hold current and valid Property and Casualty Insurance license or able to obtain one within 6 months of hire.
  • Bi-Lingual English/Spanish) preferred
  • Have the ability and willingness to attain insurance certifications within 18 months of hire.
  • Develop excellent communication and customer service skills, with a focus on building and nurturing strong client relationships.
  • Strong analytical and organization skills.
  • Demonstrate ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and claims personnel to achieve departmental and company goals
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficiency in orchestrating and hosting virtual meetings using platforms like Teams and Zoom, encompassing the capability to share screens and deliver presentations (e.g., PowerPoint, Proposals, etc.).
