SUMMARY
Responsible for supporting Foster Care and Adoption program through providing transportation for youth to appointments and visits with family, scheduling appointments and administrative support.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Home Visits, Monitoring & Family Time Supervision
- Schedule appointments and visitations.
- Transport children in company vehicles to family homes or other community settings.
- Conduct structured observations of the child and parents.
- Document behavioral patterns, interactions, and any safety concerns.
- Monitor interactions closely to prevent unsafe or harmful situations.
- Engage with both children and caregivers to provide guidance or support.
· May facilitate in-house consultation meetings with children and families.
· Keep vehicles and family time environments clean, orderly and safe.
- Be available for after-hours or weekend supervision when necessary.
Documentation and Recordkeeping
· Prepare and maintain timely documentation, files and department records in accordance with agency, state accreditation, and other requirements, policies, and procedures.
· Utilize computerized data entry equipment and various word processing, spreadsheet and file maintenance programs to enter, store and/or retrieve information as requested or otherwise necessary and summarize data in preparation of standardized reports.
· Write reports and documents to support other workers on the team.
- Record all client interactions, home visits, family time sessions, and appointments promptly.
- Summarize observations clearly to support decision-making and possible court testimony.
Court and Consultation Involvement
- May need to testify in court or facilitate internal meetings to support case decisions.
- Prepare all records and documentation to accurately reflect observations and interventions.
- Participate in in-house consultations, providing professional insights on the child’s and family’s needs.
Additional Duties
- Attend regular staff and/or team meetings.
- Serve on staff committees as assigned and/or approved including PQI.
- Establish and maintain professional, collaborative relationships with agency and community.
- Maintain agency standards regarding confidentiality, quality, and productivity.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in human services, social work, or related field, required. Experience in social service field, preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS

- Ability to respond appropriately to the cultural differences present among the agency’s service population.
- Previous job or student placement experience in the field of Foster Care and Adoption/child welfare. family serving agency, or community-based agency.
- Flexibility with respect to work assignments in accordance with agency needs.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Experience using Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and Teams.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license along with a satisfactory driving record as determined by insurance underwriting standards.
Location:
Work location is Wilmington, with travel required to other counties to transport families and other needed. Company vehicle provided when transporting children and families.
