Your Role
The Stellarus Finance team supports financial reporting, analysis, product support and information technology support to Stellarus, a new technology company. The Financial Analyst, Consultant will report to the Director of Finance for Stellarus. In this role you will be managing the monthly production of financial statements for Stellarus including balance sheet, cash flow statement and profit and loss. You will also manage the process to develop quarterly board reporting for the Stellarus board and partners. You will work closely with the accounting and controllers’ team to understand charges posting to Stellarus, as well as intercompany transactions between the parent company Ascendiun, Stellarus, and other entities. This position will work very closely with the Stellarus and Ascendiun finance teams to develop all intercompany relationships and charges. You will also work very closely with Global Business Services and the business leaders to ensure all contracting is done correctly and systemically. Other duties will include support for corporate development transactions as well as analysis and reporting of Stellarus customers. Ad hoc projects will also be part of the role.
Responsibilities
Your Work
In this role, you will:
- Summarize monthly and quarterly financial results of Stellarus for senior leaders and the board of directors, that is actionable
- Produce monthly and quarterly financial reporting and analysis for senior leaders and the Stellarus board of directors including balance sheet, income statement and cash flow statements
- Develop rules of the road and systems calculations for all intercompany transactions between Stellarus and other entities and companies
- Provide policy guidance and interpretation to ensure financial records are consistent and comply with company policies and GAAP
- Create process and reporting for all Stellarus contracting to ensure appropriate accounting treatment (capitalize vs. expense) and entity and complete this in a systemic way
- Support and assist in new corporate development transactions, as well as requests for proposal (RFP) and analysis for potential new partners and existing partners
- Lead the annual planning process for Stellarus in conjunction with the Ascendiun
- Ad Hoc analysis of products, customers, and technology initiatives
Qualifications
Your Knowledge and Experience
Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Requires at least 7 years of prior relevant experience
- Requires prior experience with product financials
- Prior experience in a startup or technology organization preferred
- Prior experience managing the FP&A function for a business unit or larger group preferred
- Knowledge of cost accounting and GAAP principles preferred
- Prior experience with board of directors and senior leaders in presentation and communication preferred
