Your Role

 

The Stellarus Finance team supports financial reporting, analysis, product support and information technology support to Stellarus, a new technology company. The Principal Financial Analyst, Principal will report to the Director of Finance for Stellarus.  The primary responsibility of the role is to develop the costing models for Stellarus products and to play a key role in helping to define pricing and margin goals for the business. This will include helping to develop a cost allocation model, and to group direct costs into cost centers and financial systems to systemically determine product and customer profitability. This role will partner closely with the Stellarus finance team, and the Ascendiun financial systems team to define the systems build needed to generate product and customer profit and loss statements. This role will also partner closely with the product management team to help driver pricing decisions, and support requests for proposal and corporate development transactions.

Responsibilities

Your Work

 

In this role, you will:

  • Monitor and measure cash flow and product and customer profitability
  • Collect and evaluate data, develop and maintain financial models, analyze results and conduct scenario analysis to forecast balance sheet, cash flow and profit/loss 
  • Reconcile data results from different sources and combine them into integrated reports spanning product, customer and entity
  • Participate in internal workgroups and committees to provide analytical insight and support for the implementation and enhancement of new programs, products, and services 
  • Own and develop product costing to include cost allocation and direct cost assignment
  • Drive product pricing in partnership with the product management team considering margin as well as competitive position
  • Support corporate development transactions from a finance standpoint, and support request for proposal and other partner projects
  • Lead and drive, in partnership with the financial systems team, creation of product and customer profit and loss statements
  • Identify cost savings provided by Stellarus for purposes of internal and external reporting

Qualifications

Your Knowledge and Experience
 

  • Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • Requires at least 10 years of prior relevant experience

  • Requires prior experience with product financials 
  • Requires prior experience in a technology startup or similar type of environment
  • Prior experience with M&A transactions, as well as joint ventures and partnerships a plus
  • Prior experience with transition services agreements a plus
  • Experience growing new businesses with a larger entity a plus
