E&I CAD Administrator

Orbital is seeking an experienced E&I CAD Administrator who will work hand in hand with our design teams to establish and maintain CAD projects and standards in support of Orbital’s growing engineering organization. This position requires a demonstrated understanding of CAD programs, E&I standards, and drawing standards. This is fully remote position within the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Support and manage AutoCAD Utilities and Substation projects
  • Oversee technical aspects of installation, maintenance, and use of Autodesk design applications
  • Provide technical support to project personnel regarding CAD applications
  • Participate in technical workshops and training
  • Participate in the development of standard practices and procedures utilized in customer support and design development
  • Perform configuration and property management
  • Coordinate projects located in local network drives and Vault
  • Create and maintain catalog components and specifications
  • Administration of Autodesk Support files (Templates, Profiles, LSP, Pallets, etc.)
  • Create and manage AutoCAD reports to meet the needs of the project team
  • Create and manage AutoCAD productivity tools
  • Organize legacy data to meet the needs of future projects
  • Draft standard details for corporate standards and procedures

Qualifications (Required)

  • Minimum 5 years previous design experience
  • Technical or Associate Degree from an accredited technical institution or college in engineering design areas
  • General ability to read all types of engineering drawings, including but not limited to PFD, P&IDs, General Arrangements, One Line Diagrams, etc. 
  • General knowledge and ability to understand E&I, codes, etc. 
  • Familiarity with industry standards.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) and the ability to seamlessly interact with company Engineering & Design personnel
  • Quick learner with ability to adapt to changing priorities on a daily basis
  • Demonstrated experience in project and design team work flows
  • Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and other discipline-specific computer programs
  • Must be willing to travel up to 15% for business to other corporate sites

Qualifications (Desired)

  • Autodesk Programs including AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, Vault, & Inventor.
  • Lisp and 3rd Party Add Ons to AutoCAD.
  • Block Libraries, Tool Palettes, Layer Standards, & Drawing Standards (.dws)
