Job Title: Supervisor, Central Dispatch
Job Summary:
The Central Dispatch Lead Supervisor manages and coordinates the timely movement of customers� freight while utilizing resources in the most cost-effective manner. Assesses freight volumes and forecasts to execute load planning. This position provides integrated and comprehensive line haul solutions, generates reports, and coordinates line haul communication throughout all of TForce Freight. The Central Dispatch Lead Supervisor analyzes Tforce Freight operational performance to identify improvement opportunities and maximize efficiencies. This position communicates extensively with field operations personnel so that plans are understood and expectations are met. The Central Dispatch Lead Supervisor supervises others within the department.
Job Responsibilities:
- Coordinates communication (e.g., updates, concerns, delays, etc.) and business decisions with Operations to increase productivity and customer service.
- Communicates with cross-functional departments to develop and implement contingency plans and to maintain published service levels.
- Collaborates with the Break Down department to resolve equipment concerns and delays.
- Remains current with weather, road, and traffic conditions and develops alternative routing to communicate relevant information with Operations and drivers, avoid delays, and maximize load opportunities.
- Reviews cube utilization reports to resolve load plan variances and exceptions.
- Generates reports to evaluate line haul performance and factors (e.g., closed loads, extra drivers, alternative flow options, etc.).
- Updates contract and rail information to develop summary reports, create load factor awareness, and implement alternative flow opportunities.
- Reviews and analyzes operational performance reports and factors (e.g., late arrivals, empty miles, load factor, etc.) to create continuous improvement plans.
- Troubleshoots operational failures to identify root causes, construct corrective solutions, and discuss issues with Operations.
- Reviews operational failures with Line Haul Engineers and Purchase Transportation groups to reduce empty miles in specific lanes and to maintain capability of servicing excess volume.
Job Requirements:
- U.S. citizen or otherwise authorized to work in the U.S.
- Employer will not sponsor visas for position
- Bachelor�s Degree (or internationally comparable degree) � Preferred
- Willing to work flexible shift hours and possibly on the weekends � Preferred
- Experience demonstrating proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Products � Preferred
- Experience in a production/processing environment and/or trucking industry � Preferred
