Key Job Elements
• Manage overall environmental compliance for multiple facilities in multiple states/locations;
• Provide oversight and leadership for assigned regulatory programs;
• Serve as main point of contact for environmental compliance issues within assigned manufacturing organizations;
• Work with area operations to meet environmental expectations and improve operating metrics;
• Assist in the development and implementation of policies and directives for all facilities;
• Provide professional guidance, assistance, and training to facility EHS coordinators;
• Develop and maintain records and data necessary to evaluate compliance with regulatory and company standards;
• Regularly review environmental data to identify lessons learned for communication to all operations;
• Effectively use, navigate, train facility personnel, and manage utilization of the Progress Rail Environmental Management System (PREMS), including verifying that tasks are completed as instructed and all necessary documents are uploaded;
• Documentation, reporting and root cause analysis of spills and chemical releases;
• Actively participate in and contribute to departmental meetings and projects;
• Other job-related duties as assigned.
Advanced duties and responsibilities:
• Provide ISO 14001 Audit assistance and management;
• Coordinate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements for assigned operations and programs;
• Serve as primary contact and liaison with regulatory agencies for assigned facilities;
• Complete trend analyses and determine root causes for reported non-compliances;
• Assist in preparation of environmental compliance audits and inspections;
• Assist with development of directives with Corporate Environmental and monitor implementation at assigned facilities;
• Provide assistance on environmental compliance due diligence for site acquisitions;
• Conduct investigations, direct remediation activities, and make presentations to appropriate personnel.
Qualifications and Experience
• Professional certification or course work in the opposing discipline
• Solid understanding of environmental, health and safety practices and regulatory requirements
• Proven experience conducting EHS compliance and implementing processes and procedures
• Ability to multi-task, follow-through, work independently, and meet critical regulatory deadlines
• Ability to travel as needed
• Project management experience, including oversight of consultants and outside vendors
• Energetic interpersonal skills and a professional presence
• Strong analytical and technical skills
• Excellent written and oral skills required.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Multiple Company/Division experience;
• OSHA 501, 10 and 30 hours training.
