Job Title: Safety & Security Coordinator
Minimum Qualifications Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent;
- 5 year’s minimum related experience;
- Experience managing body worn cameras to include evidentiary duties;
- Experience in the management of and coordination of law enforcement training and record retention programs;
- Experience with preparing and presenting information to staff; and

Experience and knowledge of the state procurement code in relation to creating and managing service agreements and contracts.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree or two years of college-level classes;
- 10 years of law enforcement experience;
- Strong skills in Google Work Space, Google Office Suite, Microsoft Office, Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint;
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written;
- Flexibility, organization, decision-making and problem-solving skills;
- Ability to sustain high work standards and high levels of competency in all related office skills;
- Experience in managing facility access control systems; and
- Experience coordinating and developing working relationships with other agencies.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Has constant access to confidential information; therefore must respect and safeguard sensitive, confidential or privileged information;
- Work closely with the Access Control Division in maintaining and managing the District's access control system, to include after hours availability for system access;
- Utilize knowledge of and experience with office procedures to manage information;
- Implement and manage body worn camera program;
- Work with colleagues to make recommendations to continuously improve existing processes;
- Perform specific job functions independently and accurately with limited supervision;
- Use decision-making skills to determine specialized outcomes relating to area of responsibility;
- Prepare reports utilizing various software programs for the supervising Director/Executive Director;
- Coordinate and document all safety drills conducted throughout the District and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Assist in developing and managing filing systems utilized by the Department;
- Comply with administrative directives and regulations, school board policies, and local, state, and federal regulations;
- Manage and maintain the Raptor Technologies entry access system throughout the District;
- Seek answers to and answer questions that arise within area(s) of assignment;
- Maintain professional relationships and work cooperatively with employees, school and District administrators, the community, and other professionals;
- Maintain professional competence through individual and district training, in-service educational activities, and appropriate professional growth activities;
- Meet deadlines and work on multiple projects;
- Ensure compliance of office activities with financial, legal, and administrative requirements;
- Attend staff meetings and training with reference to specific job responsibilities;
- Cross-train to assist and relieve, when needed, other assigned areas of responsibility;
- Take responsibility to oversee, under supervision, all aspects of the specific coordinator assignment(s);
- Create and maintain a training records retention program;
- Prepare various lesson plans and present information to RRPS employees;
- Monitor and maintain contracts with vendors who provide services to the Safety and Security Department;
- Develop and maintain professional working relationships with other departments such as police, fire, emergency services and dispatch centers;
- Complies with state-approved New Mexico Administrative Code of Ethical Responsibility of the Education Profession and the RRPS Employee Standards of Conduct and upholds and enforces rules, administrative directives and regulations, school board policies, and local, state and federal regulations; and
- Employee may be assigned other duties based on the needs of the district during the term of employment.
