Qualification Engineering Intern 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role are to: 

• Learn about qualification engineering and how it supports the quality and safety of the products that the Bayer Berkeley site produces.
• Learn facility, utilities, equipment, and analytical instruments qualification principals;
• Project will include analysis of airflow visualization study videos of the cleanroom facilities and equipment for aseptic processes with a goal to optimize airflow visualization study executions for future requalification activities.
• Learn requalification principals for controlled temperature environments (CTEs) and sterilizers;
• Learn computer system validation principals and how they support IT systems used in Berkeley;
• Learn to work with other Bayer groups such as Quality Assurance, Engineering, Quality Control, and Manufacturing.

WHO YOU ARE

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

Required Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor or Graduate degree in Engineering (Biochemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering) or Life Science;
• Strong verbal and written communication skills;
• Ability to deal professionally with internal customers of various organizational levels;
• Ability to work effectively within a departmental team and with members of the same or higher organizational levels;
• Good organization, documentation, prioritization and scheduling skills together with an overall desire to learn;
• Basic problem solving and project management abilities together with a professional image;
• Ability to work independently and multi-task;
• Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office with beginner level proficiency with Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
• Demonstrated potential for technical proficiency, scientific creativity, and collaboration with others and independent thought.

Employees can expect to be paid a salary of approximately between $23.20 to $44.20. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant).  Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc..  This salary (or salary range) is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
