We are currently looking for a Desktop Support Engineer to support one of our clients based on-site in Edinburgh.

This is a full-time, position working a 37.5-hour week Monday – Friday. The ideal candidate will be required to have a flexible approach as overtime and on-call duties may be required.

Due to the nature of our client's work the successful candidate will need to be eligible to obtain SC Security Clearance.

Responsibilities:

  • Desktop / Laptop / VDI build, configuration and deployment to end users
  • Software installation / deployment
  • Asset and peripheral deployments
  • In depth investigation into issues to pass back to 3rd line support
  • Assisting the 2nd Line support team with laptop, desktop and VDI terminals support calls
  • Hardware installation / upgrade / break fix for desktop, laptop, and server
  • Smartphone support  (Andriod & iOS)
  • VIP support
  • Service Desk cover as required
  • Assisting with customer projects

What we're looking for:

  • Microsoft Windows 7 and 10 Operating Systems – Deployment, configuration
  • Support Microsoft Office 2010 onwards
  • Proven and demonstrable software and hardware troubleshooting skills, experience in a Deskside Support role
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SCCM and OS / Application deployment Good verbal communication: ability to communicate to all levels
  • Good written communication: concise and accurate call logging, documentation, and email correspondence
  • Good time management / organisational skills
  • Work well as part of a team or independently

Desirable skills / qualifications:

  • Microsoft Windows 7/10 training and certification
  • Legacy O/S
  • Active Directory management
  • Understanding of SCCM
  • Exposure to Win11
  • Exposure to Entra, Azure and ZScaler
  • Understanding of McAfee EPO
