About this Role – Survey Engineer
We are looking for a talented Survey Engineer to provide advanced surveying and geospatial support to operations on civil construction projects.
What You’ll Do
- Conduct topographic, boundary, and construction surveys using GPS, GNSS, and total station equipment
- Interpret legal land descriptions and plats to support easement acquisition and utility siting
- Create and update models using Trimble Business Center and AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Perform takeoffs and develop CAD deliverables for engineering and permitting teams
- Integrate survey data with GIS platforms and perform geospatial analysis
- Collaborate with customer and field management on schedule development and assist in maintaining during the course of a project
- Collect data from the field to report daily production quantities
- Assist field personnel with troubleshooting GPS and survey equipment
- Interact with customers on project with positive long-term relationship in mind
- Mentor civil technicians and support continuous improvement of survey workflows
- Maintain informational databases, records, general data archives, or files using technical software
- Ensure compliance with company, federal, and state codes
What You’ll Bring
- Extensive computer skills to include Acrobat, Microsoft – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
- Proficiency with Trimble Business Center, AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, and OpenRoads
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Ability to anticipate and meet internal customer needs
- Proven communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Able to travel to various project locations
- Proficient with reading civil drawings and understanding Geotech reports
- Strong understanding of boundary law, legal descriptions, and public land survey systems
- Experience with drone flight planning and dirt quantity analysis
- Legal description drafting and plat preparation
- A.S. or B.S. in Surveying, Civil Engineering Technology, or related field or equivalent relevant experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in land surveying, preferably in civil, utility or infrastructure environments
