Usherwood Office Technology is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Cyber Security Analyst to join our team and help ensure the security and integrity of our client’s digital assets. The main job is to identify potential vulnerabilities and threats, analyze security data, and develop strategies to mitigate risks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Security Monitoring: Continuously monitor SIEM platforms, endpoint detection tools, and vulnerability scanners for suspicious activity.
• Incident Response: Investigate alerts, perform initial triage, escalate advanced threats to senior analysts or engineers.
• Patch & Vulnerability Oversight: Track patching compliance and validate remediation of high-priority vulnerabilities.
• Backup & Recovery Validation: Confirm backup jobs complete successfully and escalate potential data integrity issues.
• Threat Intelligence: Stay informed of current cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and attack trends.
• Collaboration: Work with SOC/NOC engineers on escalations and cross-team initiatives.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of incidents, escalations, and remediation steps in the ticketing system.
• Compliance Support: Ensure monitoring and incident handling aligns with security policies, standards, and frameworks.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent hands-on experience).
• 1+ years of IT support, SOC/NOC monitoring, or security operations experience preferred.
• CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+), Microsoft Security Fundamentals, or equivalent types of certifications preferred
• Foundational understanding of cybersecurity concepts, including malware, phishing, exploits, and vulnerability management.
• Familiarity with SIEM and endpoint detection tools (e.g., Huntress, Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender, ThreatLocker).
