The Assistant Director contributes to the overall operation of the Law School Admissions Office. This position will recruit and counsel prospective students and applicants, review applications and recommend action, coordinate with current students, alumni, and faculty as necessary to manage and meet enrollment and retention goals. In addition, this position will perform enrollment data analysis and assist in the development of print and digital marketing campaigns including the use of social media, supervise work-study students, and coordinate on-campus events.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implements admissions media and creative strategies for the use of social media, mobile, web and emerging marketing technologies.
  • Moderates and serves as administrator for social media pages, groups, and other platforms.
  • Assists with the development (design, editing, and production) of print and electronic deliverables such as official enrollment materials that communicate and strengthen the image and reputation of the University while maintaining a cohesive tone and brand
  • Monitors and updates department Web site and other online accounts/presence.
  • Researches, evaluates, and executes tactics to effectively and creatively meet enrollment initiatives as they apply to internal and external audiences.
  • Evaluates, analyzes, and prepares reports using the relational database management system.
  • Collaborates on the collection and use of market research data.
  • Oversees related projects and other tasks as assigned in effort to meet enrollment goals and objectives.
  • Visits educational institutions to recruit students within an assigned territory
  • Keeps track of their own budget and expenses for travel and/or recruitment events.
  • Represents the University at and documents admission/recruitment programs and events.
  • Organizes and manages receptions, orientation, and other admissions-related events.
  • Assists with conducting meetings with prospective students; Implements follow-up activities including written and electronic correspondence and telephone calls.
  • Participates visibly in regional and national professional organizations.
  • Maintains knowledge of the university's tools and systems, including admission database (Unite).
  • Coordinates and maintains in-person and virtual office hours including recruiting events.
  • Assists with development and implementation of pipeline programs.
  • Assists with data loads and daily management of text messaging and marketing platforms.
  • Assists with administrative tasks, such as mail outs, phone meetings, scheduling of prospective student visits, emailing with prospective students.
  • Collaborates with other university and law school offices as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree required, J.D. or other advanced degree preferred.
  • 2 or more years experience preferred in higher education, professional, or graduate school environment a combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Must clear and maintain a favorable background investigation and clearance
  • Must have valid driver's license, motor vehicle liability insurance and personal injury insurance; or have a self-reliant source of transportation to conduct business on a daily basis
  • Must be able to work extended hours or weekends and able to travel regionally and nationally for extended periods of time during peak times and for special programs, projects, and events
  • Must have the ability to demonstrate advanced skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, outlook, and PowerPoint), Teams, Zoom, or similar online/virtual meeting platforms. Uses various software applications, such as spreadsheets, enterprise systems (Banner or similar program) to assemble, manipulate and/or format data and/or reports.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong public relations and customer service skills with an ability to implement diplomacy and discretion at all times; ability to work effectively with communities across the university
  • Must have high ethical standards and a strong sense of confidentiality; ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines; thrive in a complex work environment; display solid problem solving and interpersonal skills; work well independently and as part of a team; professional demeanor, appearance and strong work ethic required
  • Must have a high attention to detail and be able to organize workflow, coordinate activities, balance simultaneous projects without loss of efficiency in a multi-tasked environment, and manage multiple priorities to meet deadlines

  • Bilingual Preferred (English/Spanish with the ability to understand and to make one's self understood to Spanish speaking individuals)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT:

  • Working conditions are in an office environment and university campus setting. Must be able to move across the university campus to conduct day to day business.
  • While performing this role, the employee will be regularly required to sit, walk, and stand; talk and hear, both in person and by telephone; and use hands repetitively to operate standard office equipment; and occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Frequently communicates with others using approved technological resources; must be able to exchange accurate information through designated systems within a timely manner.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery.
