Program Overview:  Performance Trust Balance Sheet Strategies Internship Program offers a dynamic and immersive experience designed for ambitious students seeking to launch their careers in high finance. Throughout the summer, interns will be immersed in the dynamic environment of our Financial Institutions Group. This exposure will encompass a comprehensive range of strategic and investment opportunities tailored to Banks & Credit Unions, including areas such as capital markets, fixed income, derivatives, and mergers & acquisitions. Beyond technical training, interns benefit from mentorship, networking events, and career development workshops. The program is designed to challenge, inspire, and prepare participants for full-time opportunities in our Financial Institutional Group. 


Interns will work alongside seasoned professionals and will be responsible for:

  • Develop a foundational understanding of fixed income products, investment portfolio and balance sheet strategies, relevant technology platforms, and the firm’s overall operating model. 
  • Gain exposure to the collaborative roles of sales, trading, and analytics teams in delivering value to clients. 
  • Support research initiatives by gathering, analyzing, and presenting data to enhance client outcomes, improve trading efficiency, and inform business intelligence. 
  • Assist in creating clear, actionable presentations that identify trends, propose next steps, and highlight key investment considerations for internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Participate in evaluating new product ideas, assessing their potential impact, and exploring resource strategies for development and implementation. 
  • Begin developing core skills in sales, trading, or analytics—tailored to your strengths and professional interests. 
Requirements

Desired qualifications and what we’re looking for:

  • Candidates must be enrolled in an accredited bachelor’s program graduating between Winter 2026 and Spring 2027. All majors welcome! 
  • Interest in financial markets, corporate finance, and/or the banking industry as demonstrated by participation in relevant extracurricular activities 
  • A quick learner who has a keen interest in fixed income products and balance sheet strategies 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and concisely 
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of clients and colleagues 
  • Enthusiastic team player 

Program Duration: 8-10 weeks, June-August 2026 (exact dates TBD and subject to change)

Intern Hourly Rate: The hourly pay range for this position is $30-35 per hour. Exact compensation offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is a seasonal role with limited benefits eligibility unless required by local, state or federal law.
