- We are hiring a Senior Maintenance Technician to partner with the facilities team to provide a clean and well-maintained convent home for elderly Franciscan sisters in the northern Chicago area, located near the Lincolnwood and North Park neighborhoods (60659).
- This is a full-time Senior Maintenance Technician position (40 hours per week), working primarily Monday through Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm. Occasional weekends may also be needed. There is an on-call rotation that is shared amongst the Maintenance Team.

- The hourly range budgeted for this position is $27.25 - $33.00. **Wage will be determined based on factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience/qualifications, and internal equity.**

General Summary:
Under the direction of the Facility Manager, the Senior Maintenance Technician performs tasks to maintain buildings, structures, equipment, and grounds at the organization's properties. The scope of this position may include Felician-sponsored ministry properties under a Service Level Agreement (SLA). The Senior Maintenance Technician provides basic training to members of the Facilities Management team, as it applies to the Senior Maintenance Technician’s area of expertise. This position also assists the Facility Manager in service contract negotiations involving the Senior Maintenance Technician’s area of expertise. The Senior Maintenance Technician may assume responsibility for the Facility Management Department in the absence of the Facility Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assumes responsibility for the department in the absence of the Facility Manager.
- Assists the Facility Manager in performing property assessments, developing of project scope of work, and preparing project budgets.
- Assists the Facility Manager in the coordination of sub-contractor meetings and reviews.
- Accompanies regulatory authorities performing building, grounds, and utility inspections in the absence of the Facility Manager or as needed.
- Provides expertise in specialty areas such as heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVACR), electrical and lighting, plumbing, construction, lawn care, and other facility-related areas.
- Performs tasks related to building repair and maintenance, groundskeeping, moving of furniture and equipment, monitoring of building systems, and any other duties as determined appropriate.
- Interprets and investigates work orders via the work order system and performs the work requested to quality standards. Closes out work orders per department policies and procedures.
- Loads and unloads materials, parts, or products as needed.
- Ensures all light fixtures are operational and changes light bulbs, as necessary.
- Observes assigned area(s) for damage or needed repairs. Notify Facility Manager concerning the need for repairs above his/her abilities.
- Assists in the inventory of materials, as well as ordering parts and supplies as directed by the Facility Manager.
- Performs routine security tours of buildings and grounds. Examine doors, windows, and gates to ensure they are properly secured.
- Complies with all departmental policies and procedures and adheres to organization standards.
- Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures to include Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements, Province Fire and Casualty Insurance Carrier guidelines, and all local, state, and national applicable regulations.
- Exhibits behavior that supports a person-directed culture of care where residents have a voice and a share in decision making in their convent home.
- Attends and participates in meetings, committees, seminars, conferences, and in-service training programs as directed.
Education and Experience:
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in facilities and building maintenance.
- Experience within areas of HVACR, electrical and plumbing preferred.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
