POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for moving product from palletizer to stretch wrapper, using forklift with fork or clamp attachment.  Responsible for keeping Depal conveyors full at all times with pallets of empty cans.  Responsible for unloading cans/CHEP pallets and staging of finished goods for loading. Load CHEP

Pallets when returning empty pallets.  Use of RF computer system.  Staging meat. Loading and unloading.  Supply the line. Sanitation scrubber when needed.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Safety:

  • Demonstrated ability to Lock-out/Tag-out every piece of equipment utilized by lift operators. (Machine specific LOTO).
  • Properly use PPE (including food safety items) at all times.
  • Maintain current lift license.

 

Quality:

  • Can identify Control Points and Critical Control Points.
  • Understand Allergen control plan and when/how to identify and handle allergens.
  • Follow guidelines for Thermal Processing, Metal Detection, Sanitation, and Foreign Material Prevention.
  • Demonstrate ability to locate and interpret product quality specifications for product being produced/shipped/received.
  • Demonstrate ability to recognize and take appropriate corrective action for “out of specification” issues.
  • Can perform assigned Quality checks.

 

Operations:

Includes the following roles: Stack-off; Supply Lift; Pull/Pack; Utility

  • Perform Master Sanitation tasks as directed.
  • Maintain 5S guidelines.
  • Demonstrate ability to find and fix defects and record on defect handling sheet.
  • Perform set-up/start-up and shutdown procedures including reconciling SAP material usage.
  • Demonstrate ability to use SAP to record material usage/movement.
  • Train other operators to perform Lift Operator duties.
  • Communicate with previous shift and next shift operators to ensure smooth continuation of operations (Hand-off).
  • All other duties as specified by Management.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Move product from palletizer to stretch wrapper using forklift with fork or clamp attachment.
  • Use of RF computer system.
  • Fill palletizer with CHEP pallets as needed.
  • Responsible for keeping Depal full of supplies.
  • Responsible for removing all dunnage and placing it in the right location.
  • Responsible for unloading/storing of finished goods for loading.
  • Responsible for removing all trash from trash containers and taking to compactor at least once per shift.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean work area and all areas of the factory and grounds.
  • Responsible for following all safety procedures and participating in all factory safety initiatives.
  • Responsible for following all quality procedures and participating in all factory quality initiatives.
  • Must have a continuous improvement mindset.
  • All other duties as assigned by management.

Skills Necessary for Success:

  • Must pass a forklift driver evaluation based on minimal knowledge of control functions and operation of a forklift.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Able to read and write in English
  • Basic understanding of English
  • Able to communicate policy and ensure compliance without exception.
  • Able to coordinate multiple assignments and tasks simultaneously and with complete accuracy.
  • Able to apply personal judgement and make decisions under pressure.
  • Able to communicate effectively and in a positive manner at all levels within the company.
  • Able to help/support other personnel.

Other Requirements:

  • Willing and able to use mathematical knowledge, including counting, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals, fractions as needed.
  • Willing and able to work with computers, including navigating systems, locating information, and recording information necessary to perform the job.
  • Able to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
