- Collaborate with relevant departments to determine placement testing schedules and implement assessment technologies.
- Interpret and implement the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA).
- Register examinees for tests, prepare test materials, reserve facilities, maintain test records, and process test results, including coordinating distribution to all applicable parties.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and secure testing environment.
- Monitor the testing experience in a courteous and positive manner.
- Score and enter test results into a computer database, maintain records of test use and scores with confidentiality, process assessment results using alternative measures, and provide proctoring services.
- Provide individual testing accommodations for clients with disabilities as needed.
- Complete reports for the District and testing agencies in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Ensure that assessment information is current and accurate for the District, high schools, staff, and clients.
- Serve as a resource for staff, clients, and the public.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Follow all applicable ESD 123 Board policies, procedures, and program requirements.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of one year of occupational experience required that demonstrates appropriately related skills to this position.
- Other requirements:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Windows applications, internet, email, Learning Management System knowledge and computer systems knowledge.
- WSP/FBI background clearance required upon employment.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish language preferred, but not required.
- Ability to actively listen and to effectively communicate with others through written and oral communication.
- Ability to attend occasional evening meetings or trainings.
- Exhibit flexibility in working with staff, clients, and young adults reengaging in education and/or the workforce.
- Effective decision making, problem solving, organizational, and time management skills.

Schedule: Monday-Friday (8 hrs. per day / 260 days per year)
Rate of Pay: $18.68 (step 1/year 1) - $21.02 (step 5/year 5)
SUMMARY: The Testing Specialist acts as a liaison to testing agencies and serves as an Examiner or Alternate Examiner for High School Equivalency and other exams. This role involves scheduling tests, arranging testing facilities, preparing materials, communicating assessment information, ensuring the integrity of the testing environment, administering tests, processing results, entering data, special projects and coordinating with staff, school districts, and various organizations.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work is performed primarily in an office environment; however, travel may be required to local school districts and program sites, and for workshops, committee representation and conferences at local, regional, and state level. Sitting for extended periods of time may be required. Lifts and carries a maximum of 35 pounds. Adequate manual and finger dexterity, hearing, speech, and vision are necessary to perform the essential functions of this position.
