What does this position do at Rinnai?

Has ownership of Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Treasury. This position will report to the Director, Financial Controller and work closely with internal and external customers and Finance/Accounting Department personnel.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the Accounts Receivable Supervisor, Accounts Payable Supervisor, and Treasury Accountant
  • Daily responsibilities include team goal setting and monitoring, workflow approvals, responding to policy and process questions, and issue resolution and escalation
  • Ensure the teams perform month end tasks according to the month end close schedule
  • Collaborate with Accounting to maintain accurate coding and processing of vendor invoices, AP accruals, and AR manual invoices and credit memos
  • Work cross-functionally to handle requests from other departments within Rinnai including customer and vendor setups, aged or bad debt account management, and miscellaneous invoice or credit memo requests
  • Ensure maintenance and optimization of work instructions for the AR, AP and Treasury functions
  • Provide recommendations around cash management, bank account maintenance, and cash flow forecasting
  • Ensure end-to-end understanding of the procure to pay (P2P) and order to cash (OTC) processes within Rinnai and become a system super-user for those processes
  • Work with the Treasury Accountant to implement the Concur expense reporting system based on the updated T&E policy
  • Perform continuous improvement and operational excellence coordination and analyses
  • Manage and implement monthly collections, payment, and KPI metrics by employees and by teams for both employee management and monthly management reporting
  • Work under the direction of the Director, Financial Controller and ensure established procedures are being followed
  • Perform testing in conjunction with cross-functional teams for requested updates and changes to the ERP
  • Assist in the assessment and testing of internal controls (JSOX) and in continuous improvement of SOPs
  • Satisfy corporate requests and inquiries as well as other miscellaneous projects as assigned

 

REQUIREMENTS:

KNOWLEDGE

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting processes and procedures
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in Accounting, AR, AP, or Treasury including 5+ years managing a team
  • In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) and segregation of duties
  • Knowledge of financial transactional processes including ERP systems
  • Knowledge and skills to work in and throughout all areas of a cross-functional company
  • Cash management experience for a midsize or large company

SKILLS

  • Experience as a Manager within a Finance function
  • Skilled in ERP, AR, and AP software
  • Microsoft Office with strong Excel capability (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, etc.)
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Strong time management skills
  • Integrity with an ability to handle confidential information

  • Ability to analyze and act on AP and AR aging reports
